I have been having many problems for 4 years now. I live in BC Canada and am 16 years old. It started out with just some minor knee and ankle pain, now my entire body is in pain. I get bad pains in my ankles, knees, wrists, fingers and left hip. But the pain comes and goes. I also get severe muscle pain and weakness to the point that I have to sit down so my legs don't give out. I also have extreme fatigue (my worst symptom), headaches, sensitivity to most chemicals, sun sensitivity, inability to take a deep breath, burning in my right forearm, my elbow will lock up suddenly, random muscle spasms, chest/rib pain, constantly cold hand and feet, restless leg syndrome, scoliosis, night sweats. Over all it pretty much feels like a nasty flu that has never gone away. All my blood tests and X-rays have come back completely normal though! I was tested for: lupus, hyperthyroid, arthritis, anemia. What could this be??

Hi Chronickayla:

I am new to the boards. I live in Canada too. Have you been seen by a Rheumatologist, Endocrinologist or a Neurologist? You have so many symptoms. It is frustrating when you can't get a diagnosis. Many things that happen inside are not visible outside. Do keep working with your Family Physician to try to get some answers.

Take care. Loring

Hi, I am sorry for all that you are going through. Right now you are in the beginning stages of diagnosis & your symptoms could be a lot of different things, many thing have overlapping symptoms. As was suggested I would go to a Rheumotologist or an internist. I was dx'd with Fibromyalgia by my regular Dr but was also dx'd with CFS by a Rheumy. Finding out what is wrong can take a long time & patience. Hang in there & I am sending you many gentle hugs, Denise

I lived in Canada, Ontario and Nova Scotia for 15 yrs.
Your doctor is just doing the basics. Those tests are only the beginning.
an you get a copy of all the blood test you have had. You can look up the results on line and find out if there are any significant results even in the normal range. Find out what other tests you should have.
Are you able to change doctors?
There are some that are familiar with Chronic Fatigue Issues.
But many symptoms of Cancer and the dozens of autoimmune diseases other than Lupus that have the same exact symptoms.
You should research support groups for CFS/ME in your area. They will know which doctors are knowledgeable.
