hi everyone!

i am new to this website and this forum! i have CFS and Fibro and I'm happy i finally have a diagnosis but I'm dying for relief. i was wondering if anyone has both and what medications have helped you... I also suffer from adult ADD so i have all three!!!! Im looking for any help! i have my first appt with a rhuematologist friday so far I've been screwed by stupid urgent care docs who think they are psychiatrists and rheumatologists and gave me cymbalta (which i took for 3 weeks, gained 10 pounds and had to quit a brand new job cuz i was falling asleep driving and even talking to someone!),, then on friday i was put on wellbutrin XL by a primary care doc which i have no fatigue and no help yet but the pain and fatigue is what i need major help with!

so any of you out there fibro/ CFS sufferers give me what you got!!! also any info if you have adhd as well!

by the way my name is jenny i am 26 years old and just graduated with a masters in psychology and practicing as a marriage and family therapist , but these diseases are holding me back!!!!

HELP!!

Hi jenny,

Welcome to the forum!! I have both CFS and fibro and I take Cymbalta, neurontin, robaxin, something to help me sleep and vicodin as needed ,but everyone's different. I see you couldn't take cymbalta. There are several other drugs out there for fibro now. I know one of them is Lyrica, which is related to neurontin. All of the forums have good info if you check out the first post. I think for this forum its CFS 101 and you can check out the fibromyalgia forum it would help too. The first post there is fibro 101.

Everyone in the forums are very supportive and can give you some good info. You should probably post over there as well. Again welcome to the forum and I'm sure others will post as they come on to the site.

Hi betsy! Thanks so much for replying! I actually might want to take cymbalta again cuz a lot was going on when I started to take it (I started a new job and other stressors) but I do remember that I had no pain during that time! I want to see if the doc can do cymbalta and hopefully there is so stimulant that can even it out so I'm not tired. But I also gained weight on cymbalta In just 3 weeks! Did you have that issue????

No Jenny, I didn't gain weight when I first started taking the Cymbalta. I've been on it a few years now and had to stop working so I've gained some but it's not from the meds. Maybe he can give you a stimulant with it. It's definitely worth a try.

Hope you're having a great day!!
