Hi crappydays, Sorry you're not feeling well and that you're not getting the answers or help that you need.
Sounds like you might have more than one thing going on. Some of what you are saying reminds me of what I've gone through primarily this year (see the thyroid forum), where I haven't felt well more than a few days at a time, or I've been really sick for 2-3 weeks, a break of a few days or so, and then it cycles again. But really, I was sick all last year too, and this started in 2012, where I was trying to find answers. For me, a huge part has been the misdiagnosis of my thyroid issue, and then the subsequent mis treatment of this issue. It also looks like I might have lyme disease, a false negative, with some middle positives. I have a few other health issues going on along with these, and they are all pretty much connected in one way or another.
I'm not a doctor, but I don't think thats just EBV. And would not assume it's an infectious disease. I have super high EBV antibodies, am positive for EBV, but I don't have a positive ANA. Positive ANA speckled atypical pattern could be associated with SLE, sjogren syndrome, scleroderma, polymyositis, rheumatoid arthritis, and mixed connective tissue disease. Bleeding gums could mean poor dental hygiene......or something more serious like leukemia, autoimmune disorders, autoimmune hepatitis, etc.
You mention family history of hyperthyroid. So, I'd guess you've had a full hyperthyroid panel conducted to rule out thyroid being part of your problem? This could be contributing to your symptoms, but positive ANA is concerning and means something. I'd also guess that with a family history of liver cancer, you've ruled this out?
Have you researched what your test results could mean? Also, what other diagnostic blood tests you might need? Sounds like you need to find a new doctor who is on your side and who will fight for you. Do you have alternative doctors like naturopaths or integrative medicine doctors?
I would not recommend just taking random supplements. You can really mess up your body this way and create imbalance with nutrients and absorption, which can lead to disbiosis, which can lead to leaky gut, which can lead to infection, which can lead to auto immune disorders. You need to know what vitamins and minerals balance each other and what ratio is required. A good multi vitamin, D3, probiotics, Omega 3, is a good place to start. Be careful about disrupting your mag/selenium balance, without proper ratio with zinc. Probably a good idea to find a qualified doctor, get diagnosis, before taking too many supplements.
Hope you get answers and feel better soon!
