If I'm not mistaken, Chronic Fatigue IS a symptom. What people can't always figure out is the reason - hormones? viruses? bacterial infections?

I used to have a lot of trouble getting out of bed in the morning. My doctor said I was depressed and filled me with antidepressants. It made me worse. I finally saw a naturopath who diagnosed me with adrenal fatigue, put me on natural supplements to raise my cortisol levels, and VOILA. I could get up in the morning! No nasty pharmaceuticals, no side effects! And I slept better than I have in years. I also benefited from treating my thyroid and sex hormones (got blood testing done to find that certain numbers were too low/too high and treated them accordingly).

Then I got hit with Lyme disease and everything went whacky again. It also affects sleep, concentration, muscles, joints, and just about everything. So I have to treat that first, then continue dealing with the other systems.

Good luck!

Hi JenJen & welcome to Healing Well. I have limited knowledge about CFS, however I suggest that you go the MayoClinic.com & do some reading. They have a list of symptoms & explain how it is a process of elimination of other potential problems. Please check out their site very informative.

I do wonder if your RA may have some role in this along with of the meds you are taking for this. Take care.

Here's a great list of CFS symptoms:
