Hello everyone,
I am new to this forum and am looking for some answers to my mystery disease and I am worried that I have CFS. Last year in June, I had a really long day at work. I was outside for about 12 hours and lifting heavy objects. Then the next week I was sick with a headache, bad fatigue and GI symptoms. After about a week, I felt a little better and continued on with my life. Then, the next week, I felt worse again. The first day would be a very fatigued feeling and I would go to sleep around 10 pm (early for me). And then the next couple days would be headaches, fatigue, nasal congestion on one side and GI symptoms. I lost 10-15 pounds in about a 3 month span. I eventually went into my doctor and they ran blood work and everything came back normal. I also did a stool test, colonoscopy and an endoscopy and tested for Epstein-Barr. Nothing was found. The weirdest part of all of this is that this past summer, I felt great for about a month straight. I was able to workout every day with no problems, I went out like normal and I felt great. Then, about after a little over a month, I felt sick again with headaches, fatigue, nasal congestion on one side and just an overall malaise feeling. My face also feels stiff and I feel feverish but my temp never gets above 99.5 oral. I just recently went back into the doctor and they ran blood tests again. They ran CBC, inflamation, liver and kidney, D3 and B12 vitamin levels. They tested me for Lyme Disease and one of the 10 bands came back positive (usually 5 are needed). So I am getting retested nect week again. But does this sound like CFS? I have recently started to get pain in my leg and knee and I have been gluten free since Janurary. It has helped a little but I still get these flare ups. It should also be noted that I am a full time student in college with a part time job and my Monday-Friday schedule is from 9-4 every day of either work or class and I have not missed a day.
Sorry for the long post but I am just worried that I could have this and I am very frustrated with being sick for so long! Any help is greatly appreciated smile

Welcome

Have you been diagnosis with depression, PTSD, anxiety or any other mental disorder?

Do worry a lot, have negative thought loops running in your head?

If so, talk to your doc about this.

Other was I suggest trying a Whole food diet, washing veggies and fruit well. Stay away from artificial ingredients [yes, you have to read the containers] food dyes especially RED and YELLOW. These 2 are in things you would never think of.

NO caffeine, no soda, hot tea only green, mint, chamomile,
Drink water, AT LEAST 28oz a day if not more.

Stay way from red meat, increase grains. Kasha, Qinua, wild rice etc...

I you feel better soon.

Since you had a band positive for Lyme Disease and are getting re-tested, I suggest you go over to the Lyme forum and post there. Your symptoms could be lyme disease.
You don't need 5 bands to be diagnosed with LD.
