I am sorry you have lost your husband, my husband died about 8 years ago & I know how hard it is. After my husband died my CFS/ME flared & I stayed that way for about 18 months. I think it had to do with the stress I was under due to my mourning. As the mourning started to ease so did my CFS/ME symptoms, after 24 months I felt better both in my mourning, my depression & my CFS/ME symptoms.
