I hope someone can help me.. I have been dealing with my sick daughter for 4 months.  Started out with what they thought was mono... all tests came back negative. Been to rheumatologist = all ok.  She has extreme weakness, joint pain, muscle aches, difficulty concentrating, insomnia, dizziness and and overall feeling of sickness. Is the feeling of sickness common with CFS?  I did have a lyme specialist look at her and he told me the symtoms came be so similiar. He started her on an antibiotic. My concerns is her lyme tests are negative and her main Dr's don't agree with the treatment. Does anyone "feel" sick, are is it more fatigue/weakness and pain.?

Hi Rose, I'm sorry to heat about your daughter. CFS can make a person feel sick as well as fatigued, weak and in pain. Unfortunately those symptoms are present in so many illnesses that it can often take a long time to sort through everything and get an accurate diagnosis. Did the rheumatologist check the tender points for fibromyalgia? There are a lot of similarities between fibro and cfs, but there are also some differences.

If you haven't already, you might want to post your information on the lymes forum - they know a lot about lymes. I have heard that lymes tests can be negative and a person can still have lymes. My personal opinion is that it wouldn't hurt to see how your daughter does on the antibiotic, but ultimately that has to be a decision you make with the doctors.

I hope you are able to find some answers soon and that your daughter begins to feel better. Please ask any other questions you have. Take care

Unfortunatly the overall feeling is kinda like being "sick all the time"  I have that problem myself, and the concentration problems are hard to deal with sometimes.  When people who don't understand CFS (at least my case of it)  I tell them that it's kinda like having a bad "hangover" that never really goes away.  Hopefully you can find something that helps your daughter.  It's hard to give advice because CFS is different in every case.  Just keep educating yourself and find a doctor who REALLY cares about your daugters health not his new Mortgage if you know what I mean.
