I had a dangerous exposure to STDs a while ago and in 4 days came up with a fever. I went to a STD specialist and tested positive for Infectious Mono. Tests were done twice. Then I went on the internet and found out that it takes 30-60 days for EBV to strike, after you are infected. I asked my STD doc about that, and he told me that he have seen cases when it strikes a person faster.
I had fever for couple of days, then sore throat, white tongue, and my lymph nodes feel large on the neck. Fever is gone, but I still have sore throat, adn white tounge. Feel tired as well. I'm negative for HIV so far (thanks G-d) at 12 weeks.
Here is my question;
Most web sites say that it takes 1-3 weeks to get rid of the sore throat. But its 12 weeks and I still have sore sroat. Is it posible for EPV to cause my throat symptoms for so long.
