Anyone dx'd with either of these conditions?  I'm usually over moderating the Crohn's & Depression forums, but I was presented with the possibility of having one of these conditions yesterday.  I'm going in for a multiple sleep latency test late in February after having the sleep study Halloween night which ruled out sleep apnea (for now.)

Any thoughts or suggestions?

My understanding of the term "ideopathic hypersomnia" is that it means "you feel very sleepy (or don't get enough sleep) but we don't know why." It's not a very useful diagnosis, as far as I understand. And if you had narcolepsy wouldn't you know it?

Hi Jon, welcome to the CFS forum. I read a little bit about idiopathic hypersomnia and it sounds a lot like how people with CFS feel - still feeling very tired after sleeping. I'm glad you are having further tests done which will hopefully help the docs figure out why you are not feeling refreshed. I wish I had more info to give you. Let us know if you have any other questions. Take care

Well, tonight's the night. I go in for the overnight then have the MSLT tomorrow. Finally, a test I can look forward to--taking a nap every two hours. Rest well everyone...

Jon, I hope the test went well. Let us know what you find out.
