Alittle history about me - I suffer from chronic pain for about 5 years now and I also have fibro. I noramlly post on the chronic pain board.  Here lately I've been feeling really really tired (more than normal) and I've had a sore throat with a sore in the back of my throat. I've been to the doc and Im waiting for my blood work to come back. My doctor seemed like he didnt know what he was talking about. Cause when I asked about the sore, he said that was normal.. Ummmm .. No its not. You don't get sores for no reason and its certainly not normal. So I've lost faith in him that he knows what the heck is going on with me.

What are your opinions? Any advice would be great!

Welcome to the cfs forum Jessica. I think you are right about it not being normal to have a sore in the back of your throat. I certainly wouldn't think it would be normal. If it turns out you don't have mono, it's possible that you are developing cfs on top of fibro - there are several people at HealingWell that have both. If you do have mono, it may take you longer than the average person to recover due to your fibro. When I was 18 I had a bad case of mono and that seemed to be the event that set off a lot of my health problems - I just never seemed to fully recover from it. I'll be interested to see what your bloodwork reveals, so give us an update if you get a chance when you hear about your labs. Also, feel free to ask any other questions you have. Take care
