You need to get to a doctor ASAP. If I were you I'd go to or call the ER. At minimum, call your doctor's office today and tell them what's happening and ask what to do.

Yes Kara! Your doctor does need to know. I agree...call his office and let them decide if they want you in today or to get immediate treatment. No need to be frightened, just need to get it taken care of.

Hugs and let us know what happens,

Kara, Is the herniation in your Lumbar Spine? There is something called Cauda Equina Syndrome which is caused by impingement of the nerve root below the spine. This can cause many neurological problems including urinary incontinence. This is something you need to discuss with a Doc ASAP. I certainly hope this isn't your problem, but based on the fact that it's Friday and early intervention is paramount for Cauda Equina, you really need to address this possibilty.

Here's a link to some info about it.

sad

Hi Kara, I can relate to your problem.  I am having some leaking accidents also. went to my obgyn and He did a test which measure the amount of urine I was leaking and checked my muscles.  The outcome of the test was I had a overactive bladder, so i'm on Detrol La just started it.

I also have a protruding disc, and a dengerative disc. along with sciatica.  the other morning it took me 20 minutes before I could get out of bed, the pain from the scitica was unbearable.  I'm trying to exercise but am hoping that I'm not adding more stress to my back. it doesn't hurt when I'm doing the exercises, but I feel pain the next day.  what are you suppose to do?  gotta try and stay limber, I don't want to get stiff then I won't be able to move.

Hope you get some answers to your problem.
