Hi all,

I haven't been around as much lately for several reasons. Some from way too much going on but mostly the pain level has been out of sight. I had a new MRI today for the L-spine and an X-ray of my cervical spine. Right after I drove home, about 30 minutes. I was home about 20 minutes and my primary doc called with the results!!! about knocked me off my feet. They had already written a report and called my doc. I was told that they would fax them to him in about 24 hours, but not 20 minutes. That sorta worried me.

Doc said that there is a considerable difference between the one I had several years ago and this one today. Guess I have an answer to why the pain has increased. But the speed in which he called does have me a bit concerned. When I called the doc he referred me to they had just gotten off the phone with him talking about me. Instead of taking an appointment 6 weeks out at the closest office, I was asked to go to the next town over cause it's only a 3 week wait there. Guess doc wants me seen soon.

The area that's given me the most pain over the past 10 years is the L5/S1 but by the last MRI I have arthritis in my neck also. Sure do wonder what they found that got this attention. I have had bone density testing back a few years and it was fine. Oh well...guess I will know. Worry will not change the results. Actually, in a strange way, I was relieved to know that there WAS something causing it and not just another pain from 'fibro'.

I'll try to be on more as I can sit here and type. Chair work is hard and painful. But whatever is going on I'll share with y'all cause you're like family to me.

Hey Chutz,

So glad that you've back among us.  I've been away for awhile myself.  Sorry to hear that you've been in so much pain, but it's good to know that there's a reason they can see that's at the root of your problem.  I had a test yesterday that showed nothing, but the GI DR got a report to my PCP in less than a day.  I've never heard of such turn-around time.  It's so frustrating when you have pain and the DR says the test(I had to wait four weeks) is clean.  Now I have to go for a CAT scan, but luckily it's scheduled for Monday.  You're probably not in too much trouble if your doctor thinks three weeks is soon enough for an office visit.  If things were really bad, he'd have the office staff fit you in earlier.  Whatever is wrong is most likely treatable, and that's a good thing.

Happy to read you again!!!

Good to hear from you again, although wish the news was better. But as you said it's good to learn there's a cause. And I'm hoping there's a treatment, too.

I sure do understand about the sitting!!

I'm kind of out of it these days myself, but wanted to send you hugs. Big ones! yeah

And we have missed you, dear lady! You're very special to us! smilewinkgrin

WB Chutzie! I am so glad that you are back, was wondering where you went to, but then I thought increased pain was keeping you from us and I know exactly how that feels. Sorry to hear that you've been hurting so bad. I'm hoping for you that the fast appointment is because the tests showed something that can be fixed quickly and take you out of the extra pain that you've been experiencing or better....When I want to work on the computer I have to stand, so I've set it up high enough to do that. Sitting is out of the picture unless I have my "special" pillow so I can lean forward, like at the kitchen table and put a large portion of my weight on my arms instead of my back or butt.Standing is part of my therapy so working out on the computer is actually good for me.Some days it doesn't feel so good for me though.Take care and think positive.Your all in my prayers.God Bless......Rod

Hi Chutzie, so glad to see you back. I had a good idea things were really giving you some problems. Very glad to hear your dr ordered another MRI on you especially since it had been awhile since you had the other one. I would have been speechless to have been given results that quickly for an MRI. They must have had a radiologist on hand that was not busy in order to reading the slices. Yippee, at least that part is done. Since the dr is waiting 3 weeks to see you thats a good indication that whatever showed up can wait that long and not be causing more damage. I imagine he is seeing a progression of your problems and it fits with what you have told him has been going on. Good luck and again really glad to see you. Susie
