They called and said i got mine it's been 4 years and 4 days since all mine started i went in front of the judge in july last year it took him 4 months and i got my letter of denil i was going to quit but my son said no you aren't he did my case for me he is soon to be a layer has to take his finals so i re appiled in may this year and had to go to 4 of there doctors  and i got a call 2 days ago i have been aproved but now iam on the indiana hip plan and they go by your income and you pay so much a month for insurance i started getting it in march and i take 17 different meds a day which equals 33 pills a day and it cost me 0 for this meds so when i go on medicare i will have to get a plan to help pay for these meds so i wonder if i did the right thing or not at least i have no income but the doctor office and meds are free now i will be taking my medicare check and stending it all on meds so you can't win any ideas but iam glad you got it and by the way where to you live in Indiana?  iI just cried after the lady called me so relieved .Glad you got it and take care as my son said you have to keep fighting .Deb

Deb. its a real problem like you say w/o SS you were getting your meds free. But once you start getting SS it is hard to get meds free anymore. My sister went n Medicare D for her meds, she understood she had to get it, that knocked her out of free meds. Most of her meds are not covered by them and the ones that are, are way too expensive for her to buy. Its a real catch 22. Susie

In Washington State, when your approved you get back paid from the day you 1st applied and if you got any help from say social services like I did then they pay them back 1st and give the remainder to you. But as for medical we are all automatically signed up for medicaid and pretty much all of our meds are free. There are no co pays at all the only problem is finding doctors that still take medicaid. Its mostly small town places that might not be taking on any new medicaid patients but all the hospitals accept it including all the big learning hospitals where you can go for monthly care. We get a monthly check and that is raised each year for cost of living exspensis.
