Back in the first week of September, I was pulling weeds in my backyard when I suddenly felt a sharp pain in my lower back. I tried to ignore it, but it wouldn't go away. I set up a doctor appt and he gave me an anti-inflammatory called skelaxin. Didn't help, so I went to a chiropractor and massage therapist. That muscle (I think it's the quadratus lumborum) is still huge! It's been 4 months and massage therapy and chiropractor isn't helping and costing a lot of money! I'm 25 years old, you would think this would've gone away by now! I had an MRI done and it showed nothing wrong. An x-ray ruled out a herniated disc. What else could it be? Something is causing a dull aching pain that hasn't gone away. I need to do something because I feel like I can't do anything like running or golf or tennis or any physical activities because of fear of re-injury or aggrevation. The muscle/tendon feels like it is bulging and swollen and tight and it won't go away. What else can I do? Would physical therapy work? Or strength training/working it out with weights help? I don't think I would consider surgery, but when it hurts, it hurts really bad. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
