Good Day To All
Hope you are all the best that you can be I just have a quick question regarding Mineral Oil as a laxitive, I read on the net to use it for constipation at one tablespoon per day in the AM
I purchased a bottle and it is relatively cheap in price and started using it, it been about 2 weeks and I find it to be the best I have ever used it seem to work very well for myself
It is my understanding it has been around for a very long time, my question is I read it can decrease your vitamin amount in the body vitamine D, and E I think
Has anyone used it for long term use and is their any long term use negative physical effect s anyone can tell me about
As I said it works very well for me, better than any other type I tried and do not like using the other s chronically and herd the Metamucile type dissolve in a glass of water can actually cause a Bowel obstruction if used to much
Dose anyone have and info or experiences with Mineral oil

Hi Odel,
I know back in  the olden days they did give mineral oil as a laxative. I really think you should be addressing these questions to your dr, as he is far better in this matter. I do know that drs discourage the use of laxatives on a frequent basis as it can lead to many, many other problems. One of the big concerns is the body becoming use to only being able to have a BM when a laxative is used, thats bad news. Sure would not want to open that can of worms. You could probably google laxative use and get tons of info on it, but I really think you need to discuss this with your dr. I am sorry I am really of no help here, but please talk to your dr about this.
