Scarred, haven't seen you in a couple of days. Are you & hubby hibernating in the snow lol? I have a good laugh for you, go back to your post on snow and read my story on the thunder & lightning. You know sometimes laughter is our best medicine. I don't many of us on this board does near enough laughing. Hugs, Susie

Hi gang! I apologize for my absence but it would seem that I really got bombed by this storm (not only in the snow that we accumulated but too the pain was horrible) and I spent last Friday, Sat and part of Sun in bed curled up in the fetal position trying to make the pain go away and crying my eyes out cause it hurt so badly. We got a reprieve on Sunday when a few of the guys from my husbands work came to dig us out and the sun shone a bit to melt some of the snow. It actually got pretty warm and made the snow like concrete! Monday rolled around and it began to melt the snow so that we are (as of today) looking pretty clear and the snow is melting pretty fast. But hubby took me out for lunch on Sunday and we got our first look at the city. MAN talk about a horrible storm! The streets were partially grated and there were 8 foot piles everywhere!! Even the Wal-Mart parking lot only has partial parking cause they are piled with 5 foot mounds of snow.

It's amazing how much snow fell on us....we actually ended up with 24 inches in 24 hours leaving the city cut off from everything and shutting down roads. I am now SICK of snow LOL!! Anyway, Monday I was busy doing some much needed resting and I really didn't feel like coming on line. But Tuesday I was met by the best news ever!! My part of my dad's insurance money arrived and I was able to put it in the bank and since I had to go to Wal0Mart anyway for my refill on my Kadian I thought I would have a little fun and do a little shopping. Hubby came home at 6:30 last night and told me to get into the car.....he took me shopping for some underthings that I really needed!! It was a BLAST we haven't been able to enjoy a few hours of shopping in a long time and he was actually smiling for the first time in many months!

I think my husband misses his friends and that has been the reason for his foul mood as of late. He told me that he "regrets" the move every day and asked me if I do. I told him depends on the day....I mean don't get me wrong I love it here but, there is nothing that compares to my home. If we would have stayed up there I wouldn't have gotten such an aggressive PCP....found a few dear friends that live close by.......and be in a brand new house without worrying about the payments and whether we would be able to afford a new house. But I miss my home friends in Wyoming and my mountains.

*Sigh* Oh trudges on right? Hugs to each of you! I am so sorry that I worried ya'll

Glad to have you back Scarred.

Where did you move from? How long ago was that?

I ask because I'm about to move.

I was raised in snow country and am not a fan of snow. UHUH.

Hi Pam! I moved from a tiny two bit horse town of maybe 198 people in Wyoming (where I have lived all my life) to a huge city (IMO) of Pratt, KS. Here there are 8,000 people and many enmity that I had to drive an hour to enjoy (like Wal-Mart) back home. We moved here about 6 months ago and bought a cute little house that wasn't too expensive ($63,000 that would have cost triple that anywhere in Wyoming) and I am really enjoying my new home. My neighbors on the south, north and west of us are very sweet and the neighbor that lives across the street had back surgery many years ago so he understands my pain. So does my neighbor next to me on the north side. She works for the PD as a dispatcher and here a week or so ago she wrenched her back. She told me "Vick I so understand what pain you go through now!" I thought it was horrible that she had to experience the pain of back problems but it was nice to know that I was not alone. My sister is now going through this very same problem and now does not tell me that its all in my head. Its horrible that people have to experience our pain to actually understand what we go through huh?

Anyway...where are you going to be moving to? I hate the snow and though this area of KS doesn't get that much yearly I think that I have seen enough for a lifetime LOL. I love this city but I do miss home.
