Hello everyone,

I am in some pain in a few places and I have no idea why or what is causing it. Apparently, neither do the doctors.

A year ago, I went to see a rheumatologist to tell him about my pains, I've been having some back pain, my left butt cheek hurts, (Right under the butt cheek) and my hip flexor on the left side also hurts as well. Furthermore, I have plantar facitis on my right heel. He said I had Ankylosing Spondalitis, HOWEVER, I do not have any stiffness in the morning and my back doesnt hurt very much anymore. Also, my plantar facitis is pretty much gone. Which makes this a little more difficult to diagnose or understand because I dont think I have ankylosing spondalitis. Now, recently the right side of my back, right under my shoulder is in pain and I dont know why, furthermore, my chest feels like its bruised and it hurts when i sneeze. It does not hurt when I breath in deep though and it does not hurt when i cough. I have not been doing physical activity for a couple days to make sure it doesnt strain it anymore. But I cant sit up from a lying down position because as soon as I lift my head my chest hurts again. The pain is sharp, right in the middle above the sternum. Its sore when its touched. My shoulder on the other hand, feels uncomfortable when I breathe in I cannot explain the pain, it doesnt hurt very much but its very uncomfortable. I dont know. Im really confused and worried... If anyone has any suggestions on what it may be and if there is any treatment, please please respond.

Thank you.

sorry we are not drs here, but my advice would be maybe consider either a dr in pain management or a trip to the ER. if your chest is hurting it could be a lot of things. i had a viral flu once and it sounds a lot like what you are describing in your chest, but i was coughing (dry- blood) same with when i had walking pneumonia. but it could be many things.... hopefully someone will chime in with better advice. i would seriously consider the ER though with the chest pains, could be a flu, heart, anything.
now another thing is maybe fibromyalgia. ask your rheumy to consider checking you for that. there are several pressure points and sounds like you are hitting a few of them. i have it, and its easily managed under medication. though i have serious back injuries so one pain can mask another and a lot of the time i ignore some serious things cause i always think its due to my back or the fibro. so i hope you find some answers. please keep us updated. but please have your chest looked at.

Help did you visit the ER or call your Doc? I was going to mentiont hat good old fashion pluerysy can cause what your describing and although we dont see anywhere near the cases we use to it still exists. Not dangerous but extremely uncomfortable! Treated easily enough.

I did want to try to touch on the A/s as I saw you asked in my post about that as well.

I mentioned that it doesnt give me alot of problems right now and it is sporadic when it does flare up. Alot of the leg pain and butt pain your describing sounds as if it is caused by the A/S. It is one of those pesky degenerative diseases they tell me that will get worse with age so there it stands, something else great to look forward to?

I find I have more sciatic nerve pain associated with this then anything else but over the last year I have found that my breathing upon awakening is somewhat labored, also a indicator it is definately progressing some as this wasnt a problem before the last year. It is categorized as a arthritis and can effect the diaphram I am told and that is the reason for the labored or difficulty in taking a deep breath upon rising in the morning. I have noticed once I take my morning pain meds I have no more problems thru the day or into the night, only when I awaken.

It is sketchy what I can find on this disease and it seems no two articles give the exact same symptoms? Maybe it effects folks in varying ways and degree's as I do NOT have alot of back pain or problems moving around and using my back, all seems to be concentrated to the siatica and there are times this gets way way out of control and about the only pain my methadone wont touch.

Anyway just wanted to let you know that I hadnt forgot you asked about what I knew regarding A/S and also to check to see if the pain in your chest had gotten better or worse and if you saw someone about it.
