Hi LL,
I seem to remember on one of our posts and it could have been the pet one you mentioned one of your dogs having arthritis perhaps??? My 11 yr old golden retriever has arthur in his hips and hind legs and he was really having some problems getting up and down. My groomer suggested a supplement she had been using on one of her older pooches. She saw how well it worked and started selling it in the shop. The brand I am using on Jake is Natur Vet, and its Glucosamine DS with MSN and its a time release pill. Its a weight based item. Jake has been on it a little over three weeks and I can tell you first hand it sure has helped this guy a bunch. In fact, right now the dove are thick in this area and all over my backyard, hanging out on the fence. Driving the bird dog nuts cause  he will stalk and chase any kind of bird. I caught Jake two times last week running behind the pool after two dove. I cannot tell you the last time I have seen Jake run. He usually just sets there and watches the other two run like they are nuts, lol. Because Jake has responded so well, I wanted to pass this info to you, in case you are interested in trying something along these lines for your dog.
We had another golden that was older and many years ago the vet put him on Rhimadyl (?) for the arthritis. It worked but the side effects were really bad and it affects the liver. We ended up having to take him off of it.
Like I said, I just wanted to pass this on to you, anything to help our little fellers out....Susie

Thank you so much.  I just read your post to my husband.  I'm off tomorrow I think I will go get it for Elmer.  We have heard of so many remedies, he seems to respond to benadryl.  I think it just helps with the nerves.  He gets so nervey when in pain, boy don't we all know that feeling.

Once again thank you for the information.
