Well I went a seen my Dr and we talked for awhile and he thought that it would be good for my son to come in and have a meeting. I am not going into all that was discussed but I will tell you this, we are both going to go and see a counselor together and try to work this episode out, Wish us luck

Sam thats great, glad to know your dr is willing to work with you on this. I wish you nothing but the best of luck on this. If your son is having some issues this can probably get that handled. Hope you got some meds to help you out too. Susie

Again, Sam -- I wish you all good luck.

You're working hard to raise a boy in difficult times. You done good, man!

My daughter has two tiny little girls and is expecting another. She talks to
ME all the time about what she should say to her babies when they get older.
It's scary to hear her talk. I can't offer much advice.

My own DAUGHTER doesn't understand today's youth. I have attained
dinosaur status. She keeps working on the issue. In that way, she's like
her own mom.

Keep going. Keep working. You haven't stumbled across a problem that
has an easy solution.

yes I have had my meds refilled, I have been seeing my Dr for Three years now and this was the first time I have had any issues with my meds. I am confident we will resolve this issue and hopefully bond even closer than we are now. Again thank you all for all of your help and advise.

Sam, great news! I think your doc has it right and hopefully this will nip it in the bud about your son either using or wanting to use drugs.  The sooner it can be addressed the better.  Good luck to you both!

Good deal!

Best of luck and more to come.

I, for one, appreciate what you went thru to see your son to a good outcome.

You a good man, Sam Brown.

I have to add.. BRAVO!!! I also have a son who is about to turn 20 he is VERY difficult to raise on many levels. I have been in your shoes. You have done what I would of done. Hopefully the steps you will be taking with you son will work out. I promise it will bring you closer.... Understanding on both sides.

My prayers are with your family

Hey Sam, I'm glad you came back to the forum..you did get some pretty "heated" comments about your situation with your son...I hope that you took it for what it was, advice from experience...So, glad to hear things are going well with our son and your Dr. Keep them pills locked up...

Me.

That is great news! I wish with my son I would have had a little foresight to take him along with me to one of my appts. He probably would have understood a little more. Thank god he has passed that phase of his life and is now settling down for a change.

Hugsss and I hope that all goes well.

Our Appointment is for next Wed 4/22/09 at 9 am, I will let everyone know how things work out for us, but please understand that I am not going to turn this into a "soap opera" I will however be honest and let everyone know the truth as it will help anyone else who mite have or is expearencing this same problem. I for one believe that I and my son are doing the right thing, we should both learn a lot from this and hopefully he will be abel to teach some of his friends something.

Looking forward to next Wed; Sam

To be clear, my 'popcorn' comment was directed at the misspelling by uniquelyme.

I have no interest in soap operas, on television or on here.

But I will reiterate that I believe you are heading in a very good direction with your son. It took a lot of courage, and I think you'll be using more courage in the days to come.

I'll admit that I was completely wrong in my assessment of where you were headed, and I am so very glad that I was wrong.

To your success, Sam! All the best!

One thing I did forget to mention, I take roxicodone 30 and oxyIR 5 the last time I went to get thm refilled they were out and I had to drive 50 miles out of my way to get them refilled, I talked with my pharmacist and he told me that there is a shortage across the nation but he did tell me that he would make sure that he would have mine in for me when it was time to refill, I have heard several stories about this matter, can anyone tel me what exactly is going on? I have heard that they are going to stop making them, I have heard that the Company was inspected by the F.D.A. and that they were making them wrong and shut them down, can anyone shed some light on this.

Sam,
There are a couple of threads that deal with this topic I think if you do a search, or even better go to the fda.gov website, you'll find the most accurate answer. My cousin is a pharmacist and told me one of the companies was shut down completely. For other companies, they have had to stop making certain meds. Someone here posted excellent information on one of those threads (probably not very old - check the last several pages of topics).

I know i was one of the ones who came down on your pretty hard in your earlier thread. To be honest, I still don't regret anything I said. I am glad you are getting help for your son, and I hope you both get the help you need. That's all I'm going to say on that issue.

PaLady
p.s. the thread by HelloKitty that Frances2008 bumped up is the one I was referring to. Thanks, Frances!

Just wanted to say thank you for the information I asked for it was very helpful although it is still very confusing, it seems like no one really knows exactly what is going on, I did go to the F.D.A.'s web page and it was some what helpful but very confusing, I wish that the gov. would write things so that you don't have to have a Phd to understand what the heck they are trying to explain. Again thanks to all of you for the help.

Sam ...

You're still with it, man.

You've faced the fire. You're working on it. Now, it's enough already. Huh?

Keep on your brave face and be aware of all the people who wish you well
and care deeply for you in this time of your need & pain.

We're just little pixels. Little light beams. Cyberspace is a strange land.

Pamela

What are pixels anyways? It sounded good in the moment. yeah

By the way, I got the "joke" I laughed.

I hope everyone got a giggle ~

I hope YOU don't have to face the fire cuz
of a typo.

Good saying on Sam's post, Tony.

Pamela yeah
