I'm not sure if it's ok to post this, and if a moderator or the admin needs to delete it that's fine! But I know many of us (myself included) are struggling financially because of the effect our health has had on our lives, so...

This afternoon when I was watching Oprah she wants to give everyone/family in America a free dinner! The catch is it's with KFC (Kentucky Fried Chicken) and you have to go to
oprah.com/kfc
within the next 24 hours to print out your coupon.

I just thought I'd pass it along. It may help out some people here. I haven't gone to the website yet but plan to. You get 2 pieces of KFC's new GRILLED chicken, 2 side dishes and a biscuit. A decent meal for anyone who's hungry. I think anyone who goes to the website can get a meal for themselves and their family.

Chutz and Lindaloo - if this isn't ok, please feel free to delete. Obviously I've got no financial connection to this!

Thanks!

PaLady
p.s. I'm still trying to get my coupon! The website is really backed up & slow. But hey, it's free! :-)

The website appears to have been fixed, and I was able to download my coupons pretty easily. You can download up to 4 coupons but it has to be by 9pm Wednesday night (I think 9pm CT).

That sounds great. I have the laptop but no printer. It won't do me much good. But it is a great idea. This is one of those times that I can be happy for the other people who get to do this. And I am happy for them. Hope you enjoy. Free food, no mess, and not having to do the cooking-can't get much better than that.

White Beard -
Remember you can download up to 4 coupons! Probably can't use them all at once for yourself, but could be 4 different nights! Or you can take a friend!

Still have 'til 9pm!

Ok, White Beard, you're on. But I've got 4 coupons! Unfortunately, the KFC locations aren't close by, so I'll have to go when I'm in the vicinity. Hopefully Friday or Monday!

I'll bet the website got swamped and they started to pull back their offer. I just hope a lot of families got the 4 coupoons. So many people need it!

PALady

The closest KofC to me is 17 miles away but it is shared with Taco Bell So you can get your Chicken with Taco's or refried beans!

Oh guess what? My Pain Clinic called me this afternoon my pain Doc has ordered a whole bunch of tests I asked the lady at the front desk after my appointment the 23rd of April if the Doc ordered anything and she said no, I thoutht it was strange because it sounded like he was going to, she even went back and checked and said no he didn't order any. Well today they called me up and said that he did, besides the MRI of my neck that the Neurologist ordered, that I get this friday, my pain doc wants one of my Thorasic Spine and an EMG of my arms and a Bone Scan, and some Xrays and a bunch of Blood work done?????? When I seen him the 23rd he was asking me a bunch of weird questions as he was looking at my chart!????? Anyway now I got a whole bunch of stuff scheduled, ??????

White Beard,
Any chance you could get most or all of these done on the same day? I know that doesn't always work out, though. It becomes a scheduling nightmare.

Keep us informed on one of the other threads (or start a new one so everyone knows!).

White Beard,

Don't you hate it when they do that to you?! I had a similar situation the other week, when it sounded like the doctor wanted something done & the receptionist denied it. I argued with her & "made her go check with the doctor" but I don't think she ever did, because she told me that the information she had was correct. about a week later, I got a phone call from the same receptionist saying that yes indeed, I had been correct & the doctor HAD wanted what I suspected (sounds like she finally got around to talking to him several days later, or someone picked up on her mistake).

Did the doc give you any indication of what he is thinking? That sure is a lot of tests! I can hear the wheels turning in his head, but what does it all mean...? Hopefully, like Palady mentioned, you can knock out a lot of this stuff on the same day! Keep us posted. If I forget, good luck with your MRI on Friday!

I am not sure what he is thinking, I know I had to go to the ER several weeks ago (or longer ) they thought I had kidney stones, they did a Cat Scan of me and then said it was my back, and they were going to write a report and sent it my PCP and my Pain Doc, well when I seen my pain Doc the 23rd of April I was telling him about the problem I have been with my back and then the last couple of weeks I have had pain in my left arm going from my elbow into my fingers, and from my adams apple up the left side into the back of my head, and then it make me gag, an I have spasms in my throat. He didn't say allot about it other than since I had an appointment with the neurologist that he would let him handle it. But then he started asking me questions about if I ever had cancer or if it runs in my family and all kinds of things like that. Cancer runs in both sides of my family and both my parents died of it,and their parents had it, but I have never had it. Anyway I didn't think much about it since he didn't order any test! But now I kind of wonder what is on his mind???

PALady I have my cervical MRI this Friday morning, and afterwards I can go to the pain clinic and get the paper work for the Xrays and the blood work, and get those done, the Thorasic MRI is scheduled for the 15th of may, and the EMG is scheduled with my neurologist the 2nd of June and they are going to call me about the Bone Scan! I really dread that one because I had one two or so years ago and I was diagnosed with Osteopenia and they had me take this one pill once a week and you couldn't eat or drink anything for 8 hours before taking it and an hour or two after taking it and you could not lay down for a hour or two after taking it, anyway and I also have to take calcium 600mg and Vit D twice a day. well the weekly pill made me sick as a dog and sometimes just the nausea was so bad, that I just quit taking the weekly pill altogether, and that was close to a year ago! But I still take the Calcium and Vit D twice a day. I have a feeling if my Doc finds out I might be in the Dog house!!I know, I know, I should know better, but in my defense I was only border line Osteopenic!

Oh yea PALady afer I got off the internet, all of a sudden my printer kicked on and it printed out two more coupons, ( Go Figure!) anyway now I have four, so we can go out for dinner four times! You can pick the dates! wink

Hi all,

Our KFCs here (s. OH) are reporting shortages of chicken because of the high demand! I guess they didn't expect all the CPers coming at once!

Yes, I saw a national news story about it - it's everywhere! Long lines, running out of chicken. But supposedly KFC promised to honor the coupons. I know I'm going to try going at some odd hour - certainly not at dinner time!

Lyn,
I'm not sure if it is, although it was only available for 24 hours. When I heard her on her program she said a free dinner for "everyone in America. Now "America" can be interpreted differently! Why don't you write her website and ask!!

I heard another news story last night that KFC was having to give out rain checks but that they would honor the coupons!

Yes, Chart, I thought the same. He had his MRI this morning. Although I haven't read all the new posts yet, so maybe it's somewhere in there.

Oops....kinda.... rolleyes

Don't know if anyone here has tried to redeem their KFC coupon. I tried tonight, but at the location I went to they were making people go inside the store (not the drive through!) to fill out some form and attach the coupon and then they send it in to verify that it was actually printed from the printer and not xeroxed yadayadayada... smhair

I wasn't about to wait in this long line and go through that stuff. I wonder if KFC will end up doing themselves more harm than good by forcing people to do this. They should have figured out a way the coupon could be verified as it was being printed. Their bad! nono

Maybe I'll try again next week. But I hope someone here got some real food!!! turn

PA-
The coupons say right on them that it is one coupon per person total for the duration of the period. From what I've heard (I haven't been to KFC yet myself), the forms are to verify that people aren't going back on multiple days. You can bring your whole family of 4, but you can't go 4 times yourself.

Here in Chicago, my neighbors have been saying that the KFC's don't even issue rain checks. Course, I guess I shouldn't be surprised since now all the fast food chains charge you extra even just to get a packet of salt. ;)
If it sounds too good to be true ... well, I'm going to try tomorrow anyways just to see. Rumor has it that maybe Oprah is going to step in to cover some of those coupons since so many people downloaded them & now can't use them. There was a quote from KFC that they had no idea that millions of people would download their coupons. Have they lived in a cave? lol Oprah's like the biggest star in the world! :) Silly KFC execs. Oh well.

Good luck trying to redeem your coupon. Hopefully your plan will work & they will get more chicken.

Frances,
I thought about KFC not realizing Oprah's power when it comes to marketing. I don't even watch her regularly - just happened to be listening. Then I put it on here. How many others did the same?

When I asked tonight they said the form was to verify the coupon wasn't copied and was an actual print out because people were xeroxing them and that wasn't permitted. I had kind of wondered because the print out from my computer looked just liked something from a copier. My guess is they're all confused and doing different things! LOL I'll try at a different KFC next week. But the one I stopped in was in a rather low income area. I happened to be driving through because I had to make a special trip to get two scripts (45min. drive each way!), because I needed them by Sunday. Need to go back and get the other scripts on Monday. Waste of time. But that's another story! LOL

Maybe we'll just have a thread here with KFC coupon sagas!

The KFC chicken man was on TV tonight & he said that the promo has been stopped b/c they don't have enough chicken left, but anyone who still has a coupon can either stop in to the store for a rain check, or can go to the KFC website & enter in their coupon code(s) & KFC will mail you a rain check. Just thought I'd share that so none of us have to go & wait in the 4 hours lines for our free chicken vouchers -- and then end up spending another 4 hours in the ER from standing in line for so long. hee, hee, cluck, cluck :)

thanks again to PA for sharing this deal with us!
