Hi all!!

A while back we used to have what I referred to as 'formal chat night' that was moderated. It was held in the CP chat room and we had great fun! But about a year ago the software started to give us kicking us all out every 20 minutes. So, we stopped the chats.

I think that issue is fixed now and I have had a couple of requests recently to have chat nights again. These are open to anyone on Healing Well, but the focus will be on pain issues. Each night we could have a topic or just have open chat. The reason we used a moderated format was so everyone would have an equal chance to speak. Otherwise those who are a bit more shy would likely not have a turn. I can go into the details later if we decide to do this. anyone interested in a Chat Night??? What questions do you have? What nights would be best for you? We used to hold them at 6PM Pacific time. It seems to be the most fair to the majority of people. Those on the east coast of N. America find it might be a bit too late but those out west find it a bit too it must be about

I would be happy to moderate these chats again if there is interest. And if others are interested in hosting (moderating) a chat some time just speak up. Let's make the forum suit our needs and desires....within reason. smilewinkgrin

Sounds like fun! I can't promise that I'll always be around because of endless amounts of work for college (although, fortunately, I am now DONE for the summer! Woohoo!) & my ever changing reading ability, and I also work on Saturdays, sometimes till late. But I'd certainly be willing to give it a try! Thanks for the idea & the offer, Chutzie!

Lets see...6 PM on the west coast is 9 PM on the east coast, correct? I always forget the conversion factor.

I have only been in a chat room once before and only for a few minutes, I am a very slow typer and the one time I tried it I got frustrated because I couldn't keep up so I dropped out of it never to return! But I do think it is a Great idea, as I can alway be a lurker and watch what everyone says. It is to bad they don't have it with real sound where people could actually talk, now that would be really cool especially if you had one of those cameras on top of your monitor, so you could see who was talking! Anyway I think its a good idea even if I don't particiapate!

I think the chat room is a great idea. Especially for night like this one where I am up late again with the pain and the side effect that the meds I am on keep me up!! It's fun because you can get a rapid dialog (or multilog) going and cover lots of issues in a short span of time. Let us know if and when you want to move forward with this.

I am willing to moderate a chat. The chat room is one of my favorites and I think a chat night is in good order for our group. Please just let me know where and when and I will try to be there.

And by all means, when you are down, ask me for help.  I will be there.

In the United States today, there is a pervasive tendency to treat children as adults, and adults as children. The options of children are thus steadily expanded, while those of adults are progressively constricted. The result is unruly children and childish adults. ~Thomas Szasz

Put my yes vote for the chat room in too. I think that is a great idea. I haven't done it before, but I am open to atleast trying. Any night would be good for me too, except maybe Monday. And I am on central time. It is 6:40 here right now. So I will have to know what the conversion is, and I'll be there. I am in Louisiana.
I think it is a great idea.
