Howdy Folks,

I still do not have a doctor. So if I do anything on my own, I will have to pay for it. So what I need to ask is, what is the chance that I go to a Doctor some where close, take all my scripts and films, and paper work, and explain what going on, what chance do I have that a Doctor will right me a script for metadone, to help me threw the with draws!
I will be very great full for any and all advice! I realy don't want to go to the ER, because I don't have that much extra cash!

Pete trips again!

If I were you, I'd try, what do you have to loose? I'm sorry it's come to this. The system has really failed you brother! I will say a prayer that you find a copmpasionet Doctor. If not, maybe they can lead you to someone who will help you.

Thanks Pete,
I have gave up on the system! they do what they want when they want. I don't know if my Attroney is so busy, that he has all his legal aids doing all the work, and they don't know how to get it done! If that isn't the problem, then that tells me that i am just pawn in a big Chess match!! Things in America have been getting worst the last decade, i hate to se what this next is going to hold foe us!

I'm sorry for what you are going through, it's not fair. I don't know if it is the same in every state, but where I live (NY) you can get medicaid to pay for ER or hospital visits depending on your income, and a lot of hospitals have programs to help out uninsured/underinsured people. They usually have a social worker that can help you apply.

I hope that you are able to get the help you need.

Ace, I am also not sure what kind of advise to give you. It is a sad affair when many addicts can get the scripts they need and people who are trying just to deal with the pain to get through life can't get the medical care they need. I would say that if you have any friends that know a doctor that can drop a name for you that might make a difference. If nothing else, just take a chnace to get in and be upfront and and trust that the Dr. will help. Like Pete said, what do you have to lose.

Ace, if worse comes to worse you might try to find a Methadone Clinic in ur area...I know it's not the best advice, but at least you would get Methadone...If you can't find a Dr. or can't pay for the care, then MMT is the way to go...It costs about 80 dollars a week though...Maybe check the internet...or ask a Primary Care Dr. to give you a referral...That's how I happened upon my Wonderful PM Dr. It just isn't fair that the people that Don't need pain meds can get them sooooo easily...and, just like FatherJohn said...we CPer's can't catch a break....

Good Luck my Friend...

Thanks Folks for the support!
I just can't believe that our ststem has got so bad they just do what they want! And the Doctor that had been treating me for the last 6 1/2 years gets this one little chance to drop and does! This Doctor I thought was my friend, we used to go fishing hunting, and I did so much for him, because when he moved here 20 years ago he didn't now anyone, and I knew everyone, and help him get his buiness going and helped him buy a farm, and I work on the farm and all kinds of stuff! But work comp was putting so much crap on him, and he didn't want to waste his time with all the paper work, and thinking he was going to get out of going to court on this, I guess he wasn't my friend!
But to leave me hanging?
Thanks everyone!

I might be completely out of line here and please forgive me if I am talking through my a@#$ but in Canada, we have a universal healthcare system and if you are a citizen, you can go at the ER as many times or see your Doc as many times as you want, it won't cost you a penny. Of course our system is not perfect, but regarding $$, being a CP sufferer and at the rate I have been popping pills (much to my desdain believe you me) I'd be in under debts by now.

I am not saying move up here. You much have a lot to leave behind. Maybe just apply for a dual citizenship or something like that. I will freakin' go and pick you up at the airport for Pete sake.

Sorry if I am not making sense, I really don't know you nevertheless I so would want to help you the best I can and it is the only thing I can think of for you right now.

Hold in there, something;s gotta give.

I too would give a new doc a try. And as for insurance...give your local Red Cross a call. They can help you find insurance. Seen it happen many times.

Good luck!

Morning Ace,

I'm not sure what medication you were taking, but percocet might help with the withdrawal. I have to go find the rest of your threads to see what happened and what medications you were on before I can answer more.
