Hi there.

You are at the right place buddy. Here you don't have to pretend to be normal or justify yourself when you feel crappy. You can be who you are depending on how you feel. It might not sound like much, but it can make a huge difference. Like you, I am quite new here, but for some reason, I don't feel as alone anymore and it's truly great.

By the way, would you mind telling me (us) what you suffer from exacly. If you don't want to share it's fine too. Might just be useful in the future is you need some advive or info. about your condition.

I am Dany (frenchdude) and I live in Montréal, Canada. And oui, je parle français.

So welcome again.

Fairy Punk....Love the name.  Why don't you tell us a little bit about your experience with Pain?  Fill us in so we will know what kind of help you are looking for.  Me? I have had 2 back surgeries, been in Chronic Pain since I was 19 or 20, I am now 42.  Have had many many procedures, the last surgery was Lumbar Spinal fusion L5-S1 without Hardware.  I just recently had EMG and MRI to see what changes have occurred since last surgery in 2003.  It won't get any better for me just because it's degenerative.  Possible Pain Pump and Neurostimulator in the near future. And I was just diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes in March of this year.....  Wow.  That's enough about me....Now its your turn...........

Fairy Punk, Welcome and if you struggle with Chronic Pain and the many issues that come along side the unwanted demon, thne you are at the right place. We are not doctors or psychologists, but we have compassion and understanding. This is a place where you can vent or share good things that are going on. Almost anything that is connected with pain is found here. I encourage you to read through a few threads (topics) and the individual posts as that will give you examples. Sometimes we feel like what we experience is the worst possible and no one can begin to understand. We are all in this together. For many of us, pain has been a constant companion and the doctors tell us we will live with it for the rest of our lives. We just try to find ways to manage it. This forum is a help to us. Thanks for joining but sorry there is pain in your life.

Fairy Punk,
I'd also like to add my welcome, although we're always sad to learn of another person in pain. But fatherjohn's post is right on, and all I can do is second it!

It does help if you share a bit, but as others said you don't have to. You can read a lot of threads that are already started and see if you relate, and feel free to jump in anywhere.

Again, welcome. You're not alone!

Hi Fairy Punk,

Welcome to HW! I am sorry to hear that you are in pain, but you sure are in the right place for people who understand pain! The people here are very knowledgeable and supportive. We have a lot of experience (unfortunately) to draw on. For many of us, this site has been a life saver & we have developed such a bond that the posting members of the board have become like family! Feel free to post on any of the treads, everyone always appreciates advice, experience, and support!

I don't think that I ever properly welcomed you to HW! This has been a hectic week for me, so I haven't been posting much. So here's a warm welcome to the site!
