Hi everyone,

I am from the MS board and the moderator there mentioned that there was someone here who was using LDN and having good results. I would love to hear about it if they have time to post. Thanks

Hi, Popsie,
Welcome to the CP board. Yes, there was a recent thread. I'll try to find it and bump it up, but you may just want to search Healing Well for it.

I can't remember who was tryiing it, but maybe they'll see this and chime in!

Again, welcome!

PaLady
p.s. I bumped up two threads dealing with LDN for you. Both were started by edt. Hope this helps some! I'm curious about it myself. Had heard of its use for MS, but not for chronic pain.

Hi Popsie,

I have been on LDN since March 28.  The results so far have been good, I have not progressed any since my last update that PALady pulled up, I am holding!  Which means, I am able to do more, the pain level is more tolerable.  This weekend I had friends over for dinner which prior to LDN was impossible.  I sleep better at night!  Most days I am able to take only 3 pain pills vs. 4-5.  I no longer take Tizanidine during the day only 1 at night.  My quality of life IS better!  If you look at the research, LDN has helped many MS and Fibromyalgia and Crohns patients.  Chronic Pain results are now being documented but so far are looking good.

The Pharmacist Marcy told me that even if I do NOT get off PM, in my situation I should consider it a successful treatment!  As I have said in my other posts it is well worth the try, you will know within 2 weeks if it is working, the cost is about $38 per month for 30 caps.  Shipping is free! Dosage is 1 at bedtime.  I started at the 3.0 mg. dose, if I find that it is no longer holding me I can go to a 4.5 mg. dose.

You can email me directly at edtdoc@aol.com

Thanks PAlady & Patti,

Thanks for the quick reply. I have just started using low dose Naltrexone (10 days at 3mg) and I have experienced three positives. My left leg which is usually very stiff is much softer at night I can curl up on my side which I could never do before. The other night I woke up cold so I decided to put on some socks. I actually bent over and could reach my feet which I have not been able to do for more than 5 years. This was really exciting for me!!!! This all happens at night I think because you take the naltrexone then and it gives you a spike in the night.

I have not seen any change in the daytime yet, though did think my walking seemed a bit easier. I live in hope of more. It will be a while before I can tell if it has halted the progression as my degeneration is often very subtle. I lost most of my smell & taste last year & my voice has started going so I would like to hang onto anything I have left.

NO negative side effects so far which is great.

Yes, Patti, I also sleep better and dream (nice dreams) a bit more which I enjoy. I will let you all know anything positive. smilewinkgrin

Hi Popsie,

That is so good to hear....they say if you see results within 2 weeks you have a great chance of it working even better as time goes on.

Keep us posted.  I've not had any negative side effects other then fatigue around 2 pm which stopped after the 2 week mark, they told me there aren't any, when ever I hear that statement my antenna's go up....but they are right so far.

GOOD LUCK to you!

XXOO
