Here is some information I just read on the new headlines.
CNN:A government advisory panel voted Tuesday to recommend eliminating prescription drugs that combine acetaminophen with narcotics -- such as Vicodin and Percocet -- because of their risk for overdose and for severe liver injury.
The panel, assembled by the Food and Drug Administration, voted 20 to 17 to advise the FDA to remove such prescription combination drugs from the market.

The group recommended that the FDA "send a clear message that there's a high likelihood of overdose from prescription narcotics and acetaminophen products," Dr. Sandra L. Kweder of the FDA's Office of New Drugs said at a news conference after Tuesday's meeting.

I know that many of us some of these medications and this could have some effects on us. I found the article to be worth reading. I kknow my PCP is always addressing the acetaminophem content in my meds and feels they are not allways nedded and should be reduced or avaided. Though some of you might be interested.

I've heard the news stories, too. I was going to go to the fda website to read the details, but couldn't bring myself to. I'm so sick of this. Starting to feel like we CPP's are just being battered.

They are also thinking of either removing or reducing the strength of the OTC produces containing acetomenophen, like tylenol and even nyquil. This would directly affect me as I take percocet, but I know the reason for a Maximum Daiily Dosage, so I don't take any other products with tylenol. Since there have been recent shortages of the oxycodone IR, and some physicians substituted percocet, this could lead to a lot of shortages if it's not done correctly - which it likely won't.

Ya know, we gotta die of something. I'd just like to have a life for awhile before it happens.

Sorry for sounding so bitter but I feel like we're getting hit from every angle!

Thanks for posting the link, FJ!

PAlady its not being bitter.. I think we all are starting to get really frustrated about all the attention to narcotics and making the CP'er feel uncomfortable.
