Hey Lady,

I read your response on my post and thank you for thinking of me. I am dragging along on this bronchitis crap to say the least. I am so sore from coughing. In addition I have a skin condition as a result of the crohns disease that causes blisters and sores on my feet. For years it was on my right foot only-now its on the left foot too. Its broke out pretty bad and makes it hard to walk because the skin splits open on the bottom.  Both feet are a mess and I just keep putting the cream on them and keep them clean. I am wearing sport socks & sneakers and its really hot here in Tx-triple digits. Ok, enough about me. I responded to your post so read it when you can.

I know you are no doing well at all and that bothers me deeply. I would really like to make a visit to your dr and tell him to pull his head out of his bum. What an idiot he is. Getting off track cause I am getting mad.

First of all you are not a negative or whiney person by a long shot. You are always there to offer support, thats what this place is about. You and I and everyone else on this forum knows what you are going thru. How you have kept your wits about you is beyond me. Sometimes it helps a little just to get some of it off your chest and out there. I encourage you to do just that so we can return the favor to you. Its a two way street here kid. So you feel crappy-put it out there and let it rip, lol.  If all of us were doing great every day then this forum would not exist. But, as a CPer we all know the bumps in the road can be really bad. My Mom always said misery loves company and I believed her lol. I have 3 sisters, two in good health and one in rotten health, guess which one I am the closest to? Her & I commiserate about the other two healthy ones on how they just don't get it lol.

Will be looking for a post from you. Soft hugs for you my friend.(((((())))))

Hi Susie:

Thank you for your encouragement and support, I will post about what is going on with me sometime this weekend.  I really appreciate you talking to your doctor about me - I would give my right arm and my firstborn (HaHa) to find a doctor like her.

I'm sorry you are going through so much yourself.  My husband was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis when he was 17, and about 15 years ago they "upgraded" his Dx to Chron's disease, so I know how awful that can be.  My 5 year old niece was just Dx'd with UC as well.  I took my hubby to a homeopathic doctor a few years ago who did wonders for him (I'll tell you about that sometime too!), but she has moved away & even with extensive research on the internet, I can't find where she is practicing now for my niece.

It's 4:30 a.m., and my oldest son is having some friends over tomorrow (today actually) for a BBQ, so I really overdid it trying to get my home presentable (with the kids help), as well as making macaroni salad & potatoe salad, and he's counting on me to make a couple of desserts before they come, but now my pain level just wont let me sleep.

Thanks again!

Lorie

Straydog: about the split skin being a result of the Crohn's Disease...

I have started down the road with my feet where they are splitting very badly. But as far as I know, I don't have anything even similar to Crohn's. My feet have grown huge from water weight gain, and then dried and are cracking as they split...also one more source of pain I don't need. Lightly associated with my Diabetes, I believe (as source of feet expanding).

Hi Tony, it stinks with this foot business. And yes, it is very painfull to say the least. I also have problem legs and know all about the swelling. I wear the compression hose which helps alot, but I cannot wear them in the Tx heat, just too hot lol. I take a diurectic called Bumex, much stronger than Lasix, but have to be careful or it gets the kidneys. I have had my legs swell so big that the fluid seeped thru the skin then turned into sores. The day I was fitted with the hose they were huge and we watched water spots pop out on the hose. That too is a very painfull condition. Sometimes it seems like there is no escaping pain for us.

Hi Susie:

My legs/feet are always swollen too, and your post brought back a memory - our cat was under my bed, and my husband was vacuuming our bedroom, and he tried to get under the edge of the bed, and scared the cat.  She came barrelling out from under the bed and used my legs to pounce off of with full claws out, and put several puncture wounds in my both legs.

For the next 4 days I had water oozing out of the wounds continuously.  I soaked through every kind of bandage I put on it, but the worst of it was, I didn't know that could happen, so, I was terrified that the cat gave me some kind of infection or something.  Finally, on the 4th day, my husband called our local E.R. and spoke to a nurse on the phone and she asked if I normally had edema in my legs, and then explained that it was just water.

The one good thing was that for a few days, my legs almost went down to normal size!

Tony:  I am a diabetic as well and my feet are very dry and I have had a couple of cracks that are very painful - I have tried every lotion on the market (no exageration) and I have found that Avon Moisture Therapy Intensive is really good and a close second is Gold Bond Ultimate Healing (I hope it is ok to list these brand names, if not, I'm sorry).

My Goodness BlueJet, boy were you ever lucky no infection set in. That was scarey I am sure. It was freaky the day I went & got fitted for the compression hose. My legs were nearly at their all time largest with so much fluid in them. When the first wet spot popped up the lady said I was afraid that would happen because of the size of my legs and just so much fluid in them. Its been so long since I have seen normal size legs and feet. But, I will say this, the compression hose feel wonderful, they really

do, but not in heat.

You have been busy getting ready for the party your sons are having. I love macaroni salad but mine just does not seem to come out right for some reason. My daughter-in-law makes very good macaroni salad, its her grandmother's recipe.

I went to my daughters late this evening and she had a ton of food. She said they had grilled and ate five different times today, lol. I ended up inside with my grandson watching him play golf on the WEI game, hel loves it.

Hope everyone had a safe 4th.
