Hi my name it Meghan,
For the past year I have been experiencing chronic ear pain. I have been to many doctors and specialists in my area and no one seems to know what this causing is...
I get the pain in both ears at the same time, at different times throughout the day. It has been so bad that I have missed school, and work, its driving me insane. There has been times that I wake up in the middle of the night almost in tears because it hurts so bad. Other times I get a great sleep, and it may occur in the middle of the day or around bed time. It changes all the time and I have been living off tylenol and advil.
I have had X-Rays to check my sinuses and been to see specialists about my jaw, my wisdom teeth, my ears, my nose and throat, and everything is clear and perfect. Its none of this, so I want to figure out this horrible uncomfort and put it to an end for once!
There has been many days and missed work and school days of driving to the next doctor, so if you have any suggestions or any information on this, I am totally open.
Thank-you so much,

Hi, Meghan,
Welcome to the Chronic Pain forum of Healing Well. I am so sorry to learn of what you're dealing with. I wish I had some suggestions but it's an area I don't know much about.

The one thing I can think of is to try a major teaching hospital in your region (if there is one) and try to find a specialist or team of doctors that work with complex cases.

This is a great place for support, and hopefully someone else will come along who knows more than I do!

Again, welcome!

Meghan PAlady is so right a teaching hospital would do you wonders. A challenging case always is welcome in their enviorment.

I also want to welcome you to healingwell forums. We will always be here to support you in anyway you need.

I had chronic ear pain in highschool and they found out it was my wisdom teeth. I had them all removed at 19 and have never had the pain again.

I will be thinking of you and please keep all of us posted on the progress.

I love that name, by the way.  I had horrible ear pain.  I was in excruciating pain and thought my ear had ruptured.  I got an emergency appointment with an ENT.  He took one look in my ear and said, "you ear appears totally normal in every way, this kind of pain is associated with TMJ."  That was indeed my diagnosis.  I got a night guard and some muscle relaxers and I have not had a problems since.
I was a terrible ginder (during college) and I had to have to two molars crowned and two others repaired with porcelein as I had broken them.  Have a work up on TMJ.  It felt EXACTLY like it was in my ear.  It was horrible pain.
Good luck.
