So, I was battling some serious head pain today and missed my doctor's phone call only to realize it after their office closed! They were supposed to give me cervical cancer updates. Basically "all clear" or we need to proceed with more agressive treatment.
How stupid was that? lol
Now I am going to be a nervous wreck waiting for them to open on monday. Oh well, lesson learned I guess. Just wanted to tell someone! I haven't said anything to my family about the call. (generally this office doesn't call if everything is "normal" but I can't think about that right now)
this sure is one way to make for a lonnnnnggg weekend!

It's so easy to miss those calls, isn't it? We tend to wait around all day and right when we run out for a quick errand, or lie down for a little nap or something bingo, the phone call comes.

If they're giving you updates then maybe the phone call doesn't mean there's anything wrong, but they just wanted to let you know that. I sometimes just wish they'd leave the info. on the answering machine so at least I'd know, and I've even told them it's ok to do that, but I can see their point of not wanting to do that.

I know it's hard but try not to assume the worst. I'll think the best for you, that it was just a call to tell you there's been no change or even improvement. Maybe try to distract yourself with some activities this weekend with a friend or family member. That will help pass some of the time.

I know I have missed plenty of calls from doctor's offices, not to mention people calling me that I need to talk to.

90% of the time it never fails. As PAlady said you can wait around all day long practically sitting on the phone waiting for it to ring but as soon as you do something where you can't get to the phone is when the call will come through.

How frustrating! I'm always paranoid that I'm going to miss the phone calls as well. That's why I email whenever possible if it is something routine. Palady's right, the calls always seem to call right when you turn your back! I hope everything is okay! Try not to worry about it this weekend. Even if something is wrong, nothing is going to change in the next day or two.
