Happy Sunday to all~~

I do hope your Sunday is peaceful and fun. Weekends are hopefully for doing things we either need to get done and/or enjoy. I'm voting for the "enjoy" part of that idea. I enjoy a lot of things on the weekend but especially I enjoy being with my best hubby. I love to do 'together' things like photography, quilting (yes, we do that together and he's getting mighty good), going on a picnic or a drive and we love Geocaching (if you've never heard of it just Google Geocaching) It's where you use a hand held GPS unit and hunt for caches that other people have hidden. They are literally all over the world including Antarctica. Sometimes I'm not too great at some of these but that doesn't stop me.

But what I was thinking about today was...what are we darn good at as individuals? Something enjoyable like a hobby or a craft. Are you great at training dogs, painting pictures, gardening, playing with children, helping out as a volunteer, crossword puzzles. What are you good at...maybe even better than most??

I'm going to let you start answering first and I will add my later.

Children will not remember you for the material things you provided but for the feeling that you cherished them.

   Dear Chutz,
My husband says "best mom I know" . I dont know about that one thou, each night I go to bed and think of a million things I wish I had done.
TWO roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood

I am a very good artist.  I draw with pencils or colored pencils.  My love is photo-realisms of wildlife.  I almost made it my career but I was afraid to free-lance.  Instead I am a teacher.  I am also really good at that.
Every mother doubts themselves.  We might make a hundred little mistakes each day but we make a thousand wonderful choices too.  A truly great mom does just what you do, you question your every move each night, so that you may wake up and try to be better than the day before.  Good for you.  I love to hear about your little bumblebees.

I love to sew.  I can't do it as much as possible because of the "you know what word" that we can't mention here.  But I had my own business at one time from my home, making wedding dresses and prom dresses and the like.  I enjoyed that very much.  But now I just sew for my grandchildren, daughters and myself.
I am also very good with children.  They seems to respond to me.  I had a Girl Scout Brownie troop when I was younger and enjoyed that tremendously.  This year, my daughter is following in my footsteps and has started her own Daisy troop too.  I also got along very well with my daughters' friends.  They all called me mom.
I was part of the church's Youth Group for several years.  We did everything together and we would plan 3 day retreats.  Those were great memories -- powerful memories, if any of you have experienced a retreat with the church.
I am also a good cook.  Don't really LIKE to cook,  but I am very good at it.  I make mostly cuban dishes and amercian dishes.  My husband says nobody can cook as good as I can--even his mother.  And that is a definite compliment from him, because his mother was the best cook in the world, as far as I'm concerned.
Thanks for letting me share!!

Believe in yourself.  Be kind to fellow humans and animals.  Take time to smell the flowers and the coffee.
And by all means, when you are down, ask me for help.  I will be there.

I can teach a struggling child to read and do math.
I'm working now with a child who has a learning and language disability. It takes a great deal of patience and love to help them. She has managed to master her zero facts and is getting better at "counting on". She no longer guesses at a word but sounds it out, she's not perfect yet, but is getting there.
As you can see I'm very proud of her.
