Hi NoClue and welcome to Healing Well. I am so sorry to read about your situation, but I am very glad that you found us. We always hate to see someone new on board with this lousy disease. But, one thing about it, by coming here you will learn that you are not alone, there are many of us here that deal with pain every day, you will find lots of support here. That is just something all of us need badly is support, someone to listen to us. We share all sorts of ideas in an effort to tame the pain.
If you are having true nerve pain pretty much all of the pain meds in the world are not going to be all the effective in relieving your pain. Most people are tried on drugs that can help nerve pain such as Neurotin, Lyrica, Cymbalta and some drs are continuing to use Amitriptilene( not sure of the spelling on that one). I don't know if your dr has tried you on any of these but it may be worth a shot. There are a few on here that is taking Lyrica & Cymbalta together and getting relief. It's all trial and error as you know with medications.
If you try the SCS I do hope its successful for you. You can do a quick search here on the forum about the SCS and pull up different threads about it. We do have some members on board that have the SCS. I just hope the drs can come up with something to give you some very badly needed relief.
Take care and I hope that you will hang out with us.
