Hi Mike,

I noticed your first few posts nestled in among some of the recent threads. It is customary to start an introduction thread when you first join, otherwise your posts may get lost amongst others & this way we know that there is a new member who we need to welcome!

I want to wish you a warm welcome to HW! As you've already begun to notice, this is a fantastic place. Everyone here is so supportive and compassionate. Where else can you find a great group of people who understand, I mean really understand your struggle with pain? We hate to see you here because that means that pain is destroying one more person's live, but we're very happy to welcome you to our little family.

Why don't you tell us a little bit about yourself & your pain?

To briefly introduce myself, I suffer pretty severe chronic eye pain & a host of other rare neurologic & visual problems which originated from an eye injury I sustained just over 3 years ago. I've been through just about every medication out there, but I seem to have a very unusual biochemistry because most medications don't work at all for me (not just pain meds). I'm currently in the process of fighting my insurance to have a neurostimulator device implanted on some of my cranial nerves. I'm desperate for relief, especially since I'm trying to make it through my final semester of college & my doctors believe this surgery to be my last and best hope for relief until medicine evolves or they learn more about my condition.

Again, Welcome to the family! I'm sure others will be by later to add their greetings!

I thank you Skeye,
I havew had sevewral welcomes already I started a thread but it didn't come out right so I deleted it I will eventually make one I am not one who wants to be noticed any way but as You and others have said it is the proper thing to do so I guess I have tpo be normal for a change LOL.

Again, I thank you and hope that you do get to feel normal I haven't felt normal in over thirty years so I understand your need. Most of the time it is difficult to get the powers that be to understand it isn't until they or someone they feel for has these problems that anything changes but a government agency or buearocracy (hope I spelt it correctly?) will more than likely have to have intervention from rules that seldom change. So we all have a real fight on our hands especially us who depend on budgets to make the wheels of our lives connect with the ground.

I am babbling again, I guess I will close this saying; Thanks for the warmth...

I believe that everything happens for a reason, Good relationships fall apart so that better ones can develope. We accept the lies told to us by people, so that in the future we can tell the difference between the lie and the truth.
Life is like a circle, everything we do comes back to us, be it good or bad, this is called [MURPHIES LAW].
God gave us the ability to chose our paths, even though He sets the original path; we can make changes as we go along, some good and some bad nevertheless free choice is ours, given by the Creator, so make your choices wisely.
Lastly, treat others as you wish to be treated, don't pre-judge people as there is some good there even if you can't see it; always allow them the opportunity to screw up, then cut them off if you so chose.

Another memory; I like that name I had a friend some time ago by that name. I want to thank you as I have Skeye for the warm welcome. I am sincerely hoping that I will find solis here as I have been looking for comfort in all the wrong places, as it goes LOL. I will be here and even though I haven't started my own thread I have a feeling that this will suffice till I do.

Again, thanks for the memories and the feelings of belonging.
