Hello Fams,
I drove back home Sunday from S.E. Fla. The getaway did me a world of good mentally if not physically. Everything still hurts but my head is in a much better place now! I know I've been quite a poop for a while now and I'm sorry for bringing everyone down w/ my crazies> SORRY!

Today is my birthday> Happy B/D to me! who cares about bd's at my age? The best part is my Mom always makes me her famous coffee potroast & potato pancakes (my favorite meal!) and now that she lives right nextdoor, I can almost smell it cooking already!

I celebrated my b/d early and took my Mom out (my wife was working) in my boat to a wild river 10 minutes from our home. Screw the pains> Full speed ahead! We got to the boat ramp about noon and it was 55~60 degrees w/ bluebird skys and wind out of the north. The weatherman said afternoon showers but it sure didn't look like it! We cruised about 7 or 8 miles up this beutiful river just chockfull of wildlife! I fished a little but this was mainly a sightseeing tour, the fish had lockjaw due to the night before's 28 degrees anyway.

We saw a couple gators but not as many as usual due to the cold. I don't know where they go when its cold but their gone! There were tons of wading birds, hawks, ospreys and even a bald eagle, lots of turtles sunning on old cypress logs too. Mom really loved the river even though it was a "blackwater river" and not a spring fed crystal clear river the area is famous for. I told her I'd bring her to one of those rivers next time which are a little farther from home 1/2hr ~ 1hr away! It started clowding up just as we got out of the water at around 3:00pm and started raining as we pulled in the driveway! Perfect timing!

Today I'm paying for my road trip and B/D cruise. Everything hurts but it was all worth it! I have to get back to the biz of dr's, my health problems and life's roadblocks! I have alot to do this week so if I'm not around much, you'll know why!

Thanks to everyone for all your kind words last week when I was bluer than blue! Yuze Gize are always are there for me and it really means so much to have y'all as friends and family!

I love all of Y'all! Big Hugz all around!!!

So Pete,
whens your next fishing trip, I'm kinda good at catching catfish, in Ohio I fished with my grandpa twice, we used worms and both times I'd get a catfish and the biggest one was 19 inches. Here in Texas they use shrimp to catch catfish, so to me that's kinda cheating, I had to hook my own worms too..anyways have a great weekend, okay and sure hope your feeling better..

Thanks Skeye!
Na, no rest for me! But I did have a great birthday dinner and got e-mail b/d cards from both my boys! Also as I stated, I took my Mom out for a b/d cruise in my boat which was great! I hope your pains are not so bad!! My eye is just about all better! I have what should be my last apt. tomorrow a.m. Now I kind of know sorta what eye pain is like now> It's big time

Chart, I wish we could go fishing togeather! We would have a grand old time! I used to fish for catfish when I lived in Austin Tex back in the early 80s. I didn't have a boat then so I would go to Town Lake, Lake Austin (both in town) or Lk. Travis (not far)! The catfishing was great in all of them! I caught a big Flathead or Yellow catfish once below the dam at Lk. Travis> over 20lbs. not big for a flathead but the biggest cat I ever caught! Mostly I liked catching the channel cats, the fought the best and were the best eating. Most of them averaged 1lb ~ 6lbs. but once in a while I'd get one over ten.

Here in Fla. we have catfish in the lakes and rivers but I haven't fished for them yet. I mostly fish in the sal***er here. I've caught plenty of sal***er cats but they are kinda concidered a pest and most people don't eat them like freshwater cats. Their spines are also highly poisinous and hurt like hell if you get stuck!

I guess you can tell I'm dying to go fishing, talking about it. I could talk fishin all night!! It's still cold here, high in the lower sixties today but they are saying 70 by this weekend! It will take a while for the fish to warm up and start biting good again. There have been lots of fishkills here due to the awful cold we have had here. Millions of sal***er fish died! It's a tragity but I guess it's natural and happens every 10 years or so, just never this bad for so long!

All for now! Thanks again everyone who wrote to lil old me~!

I love you Guys!!!
