This time of year can get mighty drab and boring. The weather isn't usually helpful and many are stuck at home with the roads snowed in and such. With spring just around the corner I thought we'd plan a "Welcome Spring" party. Now this isn't just food but we need decorations and the works. Start from the ground and work our way up. So, I'll get this party off to a start with a location and you all plan the theme, items needed, food and entertainment...plus anything else you deem essential. Let's start...

This party will be on a beach! This beach is very secluded and it's like having our own private beach to ourselves. It's a sunny and warm day..not too hot, just a gentle warm breeze and enough temp to keep us comfortable. I'll provide a large canopy and tables for this party. What else is going to happen at this party?

A trip to the beach... to "Welcome Spring"...with all of our friends? Sounds absolutely wonderful!

Thanks, Chutz, for bringing the canopy and tables. Great idea!

I'll let the others figure the main things out... but I'd really like to see another canopy going, that has a couple of massage tables and chairs. We'll hire a couple of people and offer body massages; feet massages; the whole works! (Can you tell what I'm in REAL need of right now? lol). Does this appeal to anyone else??

We've got lots more to plan... theme; music; etc... and all of the FOOD!

Yikes, I just thought of something... do I have to wear a bathing suit to this party (are we going in the water...or is this a more "formal" thing?? Because I despise (with a capital D!) getting into a bathing suit :) I think a lightweight summer dress is in order...unless a different dress code is determined!

Happy Planning!! --Tina

Yippee! A Beach Party!

I'll start on the entertainment - with (who else) The Beach Boys! I'm sure they're free and will come at no charge, since we're going to be serving them some superb eats! smilewinkgrin

And to go with Tina's massage tables (I'm next in line after you, Tina, but I want my own cabana boy! devil ) how about hot tubs filled with chocolate? turn A few of you may remember we had these at one of our virtual parties a year or so ago and they seemed to be a big hit - except the chocolate kept disappearing! eyes

Can't wait! Great idea, Chutzie! yeah

I will bring some food. Salads of course will be good. And what the heck, since we are on the water, how about some lobster and crab legs? Oh yes, I better brind some paper plates and lots of butter. Oh yes, napkins too. For the mess that we make. This will be so much fun. I am next in line for a massage.

Hugs, Karen

I would love to bring my famous potato salad, and a barbeque for ribs, chicken and burgers. I also love to bake, so I'd like to provide some fabulous desserts, using fresh peaches and berries. I'll even bring a portable ice cream maker, so we can all have a (gentle) turn at shaking the ball to make fabulous fresh vanilla ice cream.

I'm also going to bring Tiki torches and stuff to keep the bugs and mosquitos away, so we can enjoy ourselves!!

And lastly...I will bring some hammocks, so we can sway in the breese!!!

Oh, I can't wait!!

How about a piano and Jim Brickman playing in turns with Billy Joel! Or the Face to Face tour with Billy and Elton John could extent to the beach! I think the theme has pretty much been set as it's on a wonderfully, private beach! Beach Theme! Pedicures and Manicures for all and lets fly in some fabulous cooks as we lounge by the ocean! Ha! I don't drink because of my meds but I sure like virgin Pina Colada's and Daiquiris!! What more can you ask for than good people, good fun, good weather, good entertainment and lots of good food! Wow, what a party!!!

This group has some GREAT ideas!

Let's have our very own amphitheater on the beach so we can bring in all this special entertainment! With plush chairs that recline and support our bodies in any way we want!

And yes, Catz, let's get Bobby Flay in for starters for a great BBQ! And maybe an Iron Chef competition and we can all be taste judges!
