I'm 17 and have been in pain since i was 12 due to a back injury. I'm getting better and everything is structurally fixed (but the pain is definitely still there) and ever since a pain management course I went to 2 years ago I have been coping a lot better. The reason i finally decided to join one of these forums is that my back has been getting a lot more painful recently and today I suffered one of the worst spasms for a few years leaving me on the floor in my room by myself for about an hour. To kick the blues i wanted to speak to people who are probably going through the same thing and have their own ways with dealing with things. I hate moaning bout my problems and I'm sorry for blabbing but I'm an ADD kid and slightly nervous about talking to other people in pain.... ok i will stop rambling now

Welcome to the forum. Everyone here is very supportive and encouraging and they have a wealth of knowledge to help you emotionally. Very many of us have back pain as at least a part of our pain and can understand what you are going through.

Please keep us posted and give it a little while for the members to respond. They aren't ignoring you, just are not all logged in at the same time.

Hey, Mund, welcome to the CP forum. Sorry you've felt the need to join us but you've found a good place to vent. We're all here for the same reason so don't think you won't fit in. I think you may be our youngest member so far but we do have some that are still in college and I'm sure they can give you some good info.

So do you see a pain management doctor or other doctor on a regular basis. I didn't for many years but with age comes more problems so I see a PM doctor monthly. I hope your parents & friends are understanding of you pain issues. Having someone that understands can make all the difference.

Take care and feel free to pop in whenever you get the notion. Some of the members still work and alot are night owls so you'll see people on line at many different times.

Hi Mund, I'm one of those nightowls! Not by choice, just by pain. *sigh* I'm old and have kids older than you, but I care about anyone who is in pain and especially people who are young and have to deal with this junk! I have a daughter who is 12 and she has horrible migraines. She started getting them at the same age I did and I feel terrible that she inherited them from me. If you get around to it, let us know what kind of pain (where) you are dealing with. It comes in all shapes and sizes. I used to sub-teach people your age and loved it! Let us hear from you and take care.

Welcome to the Forum Mund. I do hope your stay is enjoyable here with us and that you will get a whole bunch out of these fine people as I have. I am saddened that you are so young with CP but I know what it is like to have back pain as I too have been dealing with failed back syndrome, Chronic Pain and nerve damage for the past 10 years, so I know what you are feeling. It's just horrible that we have to deal with so much.

Anyway I wanted to give you a hollar Post and let you know that I wish you the best and again Welcome aboard!

Hello Mund! Welcome to our forum! You have definitely come to the right place to share your pain with us! The members here are wonderful, and very understanding. Can you tell us what pain meds you are currently on? I, myself suffer from DDD, and will very soon have surgery to repair some of the damage from it. Right now I'm on Oxycontin, and Percocet's to help with the pain.

A couple of things that we ask our new members to do, is to read the Chronic Pain 101 located at the top of the CP forum home page, and to please read the forum rules. The Chronic Pain 101, makes for some good reading, and you will find several good articles there. One of our Moderators posted it for us there, and she is a great lady! (Chutz)

Again, we welcome you!

Hi, Mund,
I want to add my welcome to the chronic pain forum of Healing Well. It's the best support group on the internet, IMHO! So sad to learn you were injured at such a young age, and are still having pain. Was it a sports injury? You said you'd been fixed structurally so I wonder if you had surgery. I hope you're being followed by some good doctors, but it sounds like you've really been proactive in learning how to cope and that's great!

We welcome you to join in at any time - venting, sharing, looking for support.

Again, welcome!

Hi Mund and Welcome!!

I'm so glad you decided to join this wonderful family. As you have already seen this is a widely diverse group but the two things we all have in common is that we all understand what suffering from Chronic Pain means AND we all care about each and every one who is in the great big family. We are here any time you need support, information or just a shoulder to lean on.

Come join our Koffee Klatch daily. It's a time each day when we just have some fun. Each day we have a topic that is thought provoking (like today), fun or just silly. We also have Chat Night on Thursdays if you enjoy real time chats.

But the most important thing is that you are here....no only so you can get support but by you being here you can also give support to others just by sharing your own experiences.

Warm hugs,
