I got bilateral cervical epidurals c4-c5 i believe. they use a catheter and feed it quite a way up.

I still have a headache and neckpain and I had these done on the 17th. I even had hallucinations last night, but probablly related to my Lyme but thought I should mention it. I have a call into my docs office but they left for the day and they will call me tomorrow. I have had 3 before and dont recall it taking so long to heal.

Chronic Lyme Disease,Fibromyalgia, CFS, PCOS, sleep apnea, hypothyroidism, type 2 diabetes, bulging discs to name a few

Hi Melissa,

Sorry to hear you are still having issues...It's been awhile since I've had them but I was pretty sore for a few weeks afterwards....

I would also get the steroid injections as well..that was always so weird to feel the lump of crunchy steroids under the skin in my neck! But they helped too...

I am glad that you have a call into the Dr. as it's always best to check with them when having any side effects..

Keep us posted and try to maybe put some ice on it tonight...not heat since it's probably inflammed so cold would be best...

Big hugs to you!!! Hope you can just relax..enjoy some good/funny tv tonight to take your mind off it until you speak to the Dr. tomorrow..

I just had my second one in the serries done the 10th of March, the first one done two weeks earlier than that did not do anything, so this second one he also threaded the cath up so he could deliver the steroid up to where it needed to be, after the MRI they tell me I have nerve root impingement at C-2 on the right side, and that is what is causing my head aches, it feels like some one is beating on the lower back part of my skull, especially on the right side, accompanied with upper neck pain! Well this injection has helped a little, but not near the relief I was hoping for! The pain in the back of my head is not quite as intense, but it is not totally gone either! The lower back part of my neck where I got the injection was tender and a bit sore for a few days but not much more than that! So far for the relief I have gotten I am not sure it is worth the trouble. I do hope you have better luck !
