Hello Fam's & Friends,
Well I just got back from the eye/stye doc a little while ago. Just as I thought, that heinus gross thing is growing on my eye once again! It already has little surface veins feeding it blood from across my eye just like last time! I saw a close up digital picture of it at the doc's office and it's another horror show, just not as big as the last one got thank God but it's growing super fast! So it's off to the races again! Scheduled surgery for next weds. same deal, they will knock me out and hopefully get the WHOLE thing this time! He said the good news is that it's smaller but the bad news is it's growing right on the scar tissue from last time which will make the surgery more difficult!!!

When I got to the Dr's office, the girl asked for some $$$ for my co-pay. I said, "Don't I have a warrenty on the work he did in Jan?????" She said " your post-opp period ended 20 days ago!" Welcome to >>>Peteworld<<<!!! Speaking of "Peteworld" Listen to this one! I've been fighting the girls in this very same Dr's office since last January about my payment for the last surgery! I never mentioned it here because we have more imortant things to talk about but now>>> His office double dipped the payment! I paid them $500. for the copay which should have covered everything. They got their bill into my insurance co. before the hospital did and collected another $500. The hospital has been billing me and now threatening a bill collector since Jan!!!! These B****'s at the other office, not the one I go to now but a different location, that they are in the wrong but have been dragging their feet all this time! No $500. check for Pete yet so I haven't paid the hospital yet> why should I????

Now I have to go back to the same hospital for this surgery next Wed's and they won't do it untill I pay for the last one>> $500.!!!!! Can you believe this??? I mentioned it to the Big Cheeze himself> My Doc owns the place where 5 other drs work to. He said, I saw something about that on my desk recently!! The last time I talked to those b****'s over there, they said that the doc has to sign the check and it's on his desk! He (the doc) said that the girl who takes care of billing had an emergency C-section 2 weeks ago and things got crazy in there! I said two weeks??? This has been going on since January!!!! The doc and his main girl both told me today that would make sure I would definitly get the check but maybe not before the surgery so out goes anothe $500. from Pete's poor house coffer! My wife is soooooo pissed!!! Geeze!!!

But here's the best news!!!! MY BOYS ARE COMING HOME ON LEAVE!!!!!! on the 30th and the 1st!!! I would have told this doc to shove it and get another doc but I really need to "git er done" before the boys get home!!! If I changed doc's now it would just eat up precious time! I need my eye when my boys are here! I don't want to be>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Pete Mcpatchovergrosstyemcboodyeyeman when they get here!!! I'll probably still have stitches but I'll deal w/ it!! So like a Great man and one of my best hero's once said>>>>>>>

"And away we go!!!">>

Wow, Pete,
those doctor sure do know how to run a racket, my daughter has a heart condition, so we have to take her to pediatric cardiologist well,
the doctor did an echocardiogram in his office, charged insurance for it and turned around and sent us a Hospital bill for it too and
she was never in the Hospital for it so I turned them in under insurance fraud and they called and apologized to us, it's not right that
doctors can charge in clinic and hospital charges for an office visit procedure, but it's done...It took us over a year in protest, now how
come insurance companies don't pick up on this as it is fraud...
Good luck with your eye, and I'll be hop[ing you don't need anymore surgery for this...fingers crossed for you..make sure to use those eye compressess
get well my friend...k...

Hi Pete,

I'm so sorry to hear that you have to have surgery AGAIN! Boy, that's pretty lousy, it hasn't even been six months! You better tell that eye of yours to behave this time!

Hopefully your billing problem gets sorted out quickly. Your doctors office must have some kind of record of your payment history which will show that you paid twice.

Congrats on the boys coming home! That is fantastic news! How long are they home for? You must be so excited. I know how proud you are of them! Hopefully by the time they get home your eye will be on the mend & you can spend lots of time with them and have some fun.

Good luck with the surgery!!

Sending you some hugs and prayers (( ))....

Nothing like having the goofball mistakes of insurance/Dr. bills to be added into the mix!

An entire YEAR after my first surgery..I receive a statement in the mail from my insurance company saying.."We have gotten the news that you are having surgery..and after consideration, we have decided that you are to only stay one night in the hospital before discharge"...

Um....not only did I stay for two nights, but it actually took a whole month of going back/forth to convince them I had already had this done!!! ..It's not like I stayed at some spa and it's wasn't my choice anyway!..Thankfully my surgeon finally worked it out and all was paid for..but man..what Dorks! So I can empathize with all the ridiculous hoops we have to jump through and deal with..

How wonderful amongst all the physical ailments you've got have the blessing of getting to visit with your sons!!! YEA!!!!

Hope you can find something to make your smile this weekend Peteohmyohstyeintheeye!! LOL

Hi Pete:

I am so sorry that you have to go through this eye surgery again! I will be praying that they get the whole thing this time.

How exciting that both of your boys get to come home at the same time! The Big Guy upstairs must know how much you need some time with them right now!

I know how frustrating doctor's billing and insurance companies can be. I could bore you all night with my history of related issues, but my most recent one was a doosy - I was recently in the hospital because my pain got out of control, and my PCP had a neurosurgeon come in for a consult. He was in my room for less than 30 seconds. He asked me if my increased pain was due to a fall, and I answered no. He then said it was his policy that if there is no new injury, he recommends that patients follow up with their own Neurosurgeon's after release from the hospital. I got a bill for $400, and because he was a "non-participating provider" (out of network), I had a $375 deductible and then my insurance pays 20% of what they feel is reasonable and customary. They paid $20. I called the neurosurgeon's office and told them that I didn't think the bill was fair, and they refused to do anything about it.

Take care,

May I jump in the "I hate insurance companies" band wagon! I'll let it go at that. But I'm SO happy your boys are coming home to see you. It just doesn't get any better than that!

Good morning to all my Peep's!!!
I wish I had time to write back to all of you individually but I must get my big rear in gear this morning! But to all my special angels>> Flower, Chutz, loretta, Chart, Lorie, Snowbunny, Skeye and Kimber>> What would I do without Y'all? I feel so lucky to have you and all my other Fam's here to help me get through the tough times.
As for Dr's & insurance co's, I'm sure we all have our own nighmares about these crooks, some of your stories unfortunately don't surprise me at all! It seems every claim I make gets messed up! I'm still fighting a couple of my old dr's offices back in Palm bch. Co. about $$$ and even the hospital where I had my fusion over a year ago, they say I owe which I don't!!! I think that most of the problems come from hiring incompenent help which goes right back to greed! They won't pay their help so they don't get quality people and most just don't give 2 s**T's about their jobs!!! I truly believe that my greedy eye doc pulls this crap he did to me on everyone who he sees! Most people, espesially the elderly who are on medicare don't look at their bills, they just pay them or let medicare and their back up insurance take care of it! So he is probably "double dipping" on most of his patients!!!>>> Sickening!!!
Yes, thanks for all the kind words about my BOYS!!! We are all VERY close!!! Joe, my older Sailor is going to fly to Virginia from Seattle, Wa. to meet up w/ his brother Pete Jr. in Norfolk then drive Pete's new car down to Fla. cause he doesn't want Pete to make that long drive by himself! Thanks Joe, your a good brother!!! (He ain't heavy Fadda, He's my Brudda!) Joe is staying till the 12th. This was such a surprise because they told him after he made his plans that they had to go back out under way to quallify more pilots for take offs and landings on the aircraft carrier since a couple other ACC's were in drydock. He was so upset as they both had been making these plans since January!!!!! Then just yesterday, Joe's Cheif told him he went to bat for him and got him his Leave at the last minute! Those Sailors love their Cheifs!!! So I only found out yesterday when I got back from the Dr. that both were coming!!! The plan continues to the 12th Joe leaves, Pete has to back on the 15th so he will drive back to Va. alone since Joe will fly straight back to Wa. from Fl. I have to drive Mom back to N.J. around then anyway so I think we will "carravan" Pete's & Mom's cars as far as Va. which is on the way anyway! Then its up to Mom's N.J. mountain lake house to get her all settled in for the summer and get my flyfishin, freshwater stream fishing "Jones" taken care of for another six months till it's time to go get her in October! So, Life is GOOD> screw these little health set backs!!! MY BOYS ARE COMING YIP~EEEE!!! Oh and you can bet your little pitutie that those Sailor boys and their Big Pops are gonna put a hurting on Florida's fish population in the Big Bend area of the Gulf of Mexico!!! OK, enough babbling! My wife already went down to the barn for chores! I gotta go!
Love all Y'all!!!!!! Special BIG Hugz for all my ANGELS!!!

    Dear Pete,
Good morning *hugg* How are you doing this morning? I hope the eye isnt bothering you too much. Also, I hope the new meds are working well for your pain.
I am so sorry to hear you have to go through with another eye surgery. I hate eye surgeries because that is one of the few areas I am scared to death to have "surgicals" on. Also they are horrendiously expensive. But, with a little luck your eye will be back to finding trouble with you and hopefully in time for your visit with your boys smilewinkgrin
I never minded my cataract surgery thou come to think of it. I didnt have to pay for it. Just had to allow it to be "documented". I guess congenetial cataracts arnt very common. Still though, walking arount with the "return of fly man" screen on my eye for a week was a little freaky....  devil
I hope you get a few moments to realx this weekend. With a little luck that check will show up in the mail soon too. You are in our hearts here.

Hi Dani, Golitho & Tina,
Thanks for all the well wishes! It's not as bad as last time simply because it's not as big but also it's not unknown territory anymore! I kinda know what to expect. I just hope the doc isn't 2&1/2hrs late like he was last time! I was sitting around for ever w/ a bunch of old folks waiting for their catarac surgeries w/ IV's in our hands/arms. GRRRRR Doctors!!! What should have been a three hour breeze turned into all day ordeal!

Dani, when are you coming down to Fla???? Don't worry if my boys are here, I still want to get together! They just love little kids and I'm sure would get such a kick out of your bumblebabies!! Please let me know when your headed down!!!

Hugz to Yuze!!

Ok! I just now read this post Petey!

I'm glad to see that surgery is scheduled to take care of the eye problem, and really glad to hear that the boys are coming home to see you. Your heart swells with pride every time you mention them, and rightly so!
I know your so proud if them, and the rest of the country appreciates there service to the country. I'm guessing they both fish? :)

We all could write a complaint book about the Insurance company's. I understand what your going through, and it takes a ton of phone calls to get it all straightened out, if even then! :(

So, Wednesday it is! We will be watching the board for your report then!
