Welcome to Monday Koffee Klatch! For those who are new to our daily routine please feel free to jump right on in. This is our time each day when we only talk about things that are fun or make us happy. The one rule using the "P" word...(P is for pain...but I didn't really say it!) tongue We welcome Healing Well people from all over the boards since most any disorder members have also includes the 'P' word. So feel comfortable joining our daily chit-chat.

Did you enjoy extra curricular activities when you were in school? What school activities and sports did or do you participate in? Were you into sports? Maybe you were dynamite on the debate team. Were you a member of FFA?...they're an awesome group, BTW.

Since I grew up waaayyyy back in the dark ages, and yes we had indoor plumbing! I'm not THAT old. But we did have a rifle team and shot competition small-bore. Since my dad taught at the school and took on the rifle team as an after school project I was thrilled to join. I already knew how to shoot and went hunting with dad but this was target shooting with 22 long rifles. Somewhere in a dusty box are a pile of trophies. I also was in our girls service organization. We did the tickets at sporting events, ushered at auditorium programs, etc. That was fun. I thought about the debate team but I was too opinionated and wouldn't let anyone get away with stupidity (there's a story behind so there is no way I could have argued a side I disagreed with. smilewinkgrin Oh, almost forgot...I played in the stage band for a couple of years. I played piano and the stage band music was just my style. Lots of elegant dance music. My favorite was "The Days of Wine and Roses".

OK, time for me to get out of the past...almost got lost back there. How about others...did you participate in after school activities???

Chutz smilewinkgrin

Actually I went to catholic school and I played guitar so they forced me to do guitar masses on Sunday and I really didn't like it .We had to stay after school and reherse with the choir. I loved sleeping late and really didn't like the way they crammed religion down my throat , I mean the nuns dedicate their lives to that ok but it wasn't for me .Anyway after I graduated they tried to get me to continue doing it , I said like no way and the principal comes to my house and my Mom the best in the world said ''he doesn't want to do it '' !! Man I looked at my Mom like God that day .After that I was put off after school activities ,But I will say I have a lot of respect for those who did participate , I used to see sports team players leaving school at 9pm and cathoilic school gives tons of homework !!

I loved tennis and was on the team for a while. I absolutely stink at any other sports activites, but tennis was fun. I miss it :(

Oh, I loved to rollerskate too....especially in the really old rink with the wooden floor and two for beginners and one for more advanced. It was so much fun to spin around on those skates. The new rink never really did it justice and didn't last especially long here. Now they are all closed, but boy did we have a good time skating.

Nice memories for today!
(BTW, I actually was in FFA.....the boys were cute there tongue .)

ahhh, memories... i'll try to type this without getting sad... I left high school early b/c I hated it so much and was smart enough to go to college early admission, but i was a cheerleader (but not one of those *****y ones, I swear!)... but my best memories of sportySuzie are from my time in SoCal, when I snowboarded a lot and rollerbladed along the beach, played volleyball... I miss snowboarding so much i have a lump in my throat right now, so I'm gonna go cry now... :(... ok all better...

Oh> OK> I was a super jock! We had 3 year high schools so my 1st year as a sophmore I went out for the football team after the coach saw me throw a football 1/2 way across the field. I was actually better thaan the starting Q-back but he was the coaches son so I played the possition I loved most "linebacker"!! Oh I loved tackling guys!
Then swim season came which was my real sport (I swam age group YMCA & AAU since I was 5 y/o!) and since I was the fastest guy on the team and placed 2nd in my event (breaststoke of course!) in the state meet that year, everyone including my parrents said NO MORE FOOTBALL for you! They didn't want me to get hurt and ruin a scolarship to college for swimming! That really hurt> everyone knows the football players got all the glory! But since I had such a good arm, I was allowed to throw the javelin on the track team in the spring! That was FUN! Last I heard I still held the javelin record for rthe H.S. and always will because they banned it from high schools sports in N.J.
Oh geeze, I really sound like I'm bragging! What a turd I am! I will not say anything about swimming in college except I did get the scholarship and was all-american all 4 years> Oh I'm such a BIG TURD!
Now no one would ever believe it if they saw me now!!! > Mr.Fatso!!
Skeye was a GREAT swimmer when she was young! We have alot in common her & I!!!

I was more of the "artsy" group that the "sporty" group, but I did play girls field hockey. Ah memories!! I think I had bruised shins and ankles for most of the year!! Then stagecraft called me and I started working on school plays and such and had some success there.
