How's everyone doing this weekend? I have a question for you that involves everyone. Are you fond of cooking? Do you enjoy the process of making meals or maybe you like to bake. Or would you prefer to let someone else do the cooking because it's just not something you enjoy? Whatever way we go about it we all have to find sustenance and someone has to prepare it.

Often on weekends we're so busy that finding time to cook can be a challenge. And I'm not someone who buys fast food or quick fix things. Ya, I'm one of those old fashion girls who mostly cooks from scratch. In the winter when the wood stove is going I often put a pot of soup or stew on there to simmer away most of the day. Wow, that's good and the entire house smells wonderful.

But no matter....I do love to cook! Sure there are times I just don't feel like it, but for the most part it's an enjoyable part of my day. I especially love baking bread and most things that involve flour. And don't even get me started on cookie recipes. shocked smilewinkgrin I love it when hubby joins me in the kitchen to help. He's not a gourmet cook or anything...he was a bachelor until I married him at age 43! But he's a pro at bachelor food. <shudder> skull

But what I want to know YOU enjoy cooking? What types are your favorites to make?... main dish, dessert, salads, soups, BBQ? Fast to fix or all day meals? What's your favorite?

Mmmmm. You made me hungry! I love cooking, but I always feel like someone else's food tastes better. I like to use the Crock Pot. I also like to cook all different types of food.

If I were healthy, I would cook ALL OF THE TIME!!!! That said, I don't cook often. Mostly my hubbie does the cooking. Thank God that he LOVES to cook and does a great job at it. He uses recipe books when he cooks. When I cook, I don't. I use a little bit of this and a little bit of that, etc. Also, he knows what foods I can't eat (many of them) and he makes sure that he still makes me new and interesting dishes.

I don't care for cooking, but I feel that I am a good cook. That is, I love what I cook and so does my family. I make a lot of spanish recipes, which makes my husband very happy, but I used to like to bake the most. I have a hard time standing so I don't spend any extra time in the kitchen any more. I hurt too much usually. I get done what needs to be done.

Believe in yourself.  Be kind to fellow humans and animals.  Take time to smell the flowers and the coffee.
And by all means, when you are down, ask me for help.  I will be there.

I love to cook in a CLEAN kitchen with all of the proper supplies. It makes me happy to chop, simmer, broil, bake and other things. Like most of you, I can't do what I once could by any means, but I still try sometimes and am generally rewarded with a really nice compliment from my family.

Now if I could just get them to clean up the mess when it's done :)

I love to cook, which is a good thing because my wife doesn't even like to make microwave popcorn.

I like to prepare meals but I am not much for making any kind of deserts like pies, cookies, etc.

I have several favorite meals I like to make which run the gambit from quick easy fixes that make Rachel Ray's 30 minute meals look like all day events to ones that take all or most of the day to do. With the exception of not liking to do dessert type items I really do not have a favorite part of the meal....unless eating it counts. tongue

Cooking is one of the senseless chores that I detest and since I feel that almost anyone could do it better I seldom bother.
