If you are new to this forum family then you may be wondering what kind of goofy question is that on a health care forum. idea We all suffer with medical conditions and with most of us there is pain involved...sometimes a lot of pain. Or maybe you are the loved one of one of these persons. This forum is all about how we help and support each other, how we gain back more quality to our lives, and how we can learn and share what we gain along the way and hopefully make not only our lives better but the lives of others who come to join us.

But we need to also remember that there is the other side of life...the side that isn't concentrated on illness and pain. That's why we started the daily Koffee Klatch. This is a time to laugh, reminisce, chit-chat about the silly things in our lives...all fun things and no pain. In fact the 'P' word is not allowed... tongue So each day we share our thoughts or experiences on a different topic. Often it includes food, sometimes we talk about our past, and other times we just get goofy! Laughter is our goal. So, please join us whether this is your very first day on Healing Well or you're a seasoned veteran.
The first days of summer are finally here. I can't help but wonder what others like to do in summer. So, what is your favorite summer activity? Going to the park? BBQ in the early evenings? Watering your herb garden in the morning? Share with us :-)
I think my favorite summer activity is sitting in the park while my girls ride their bikes. It is best in the early evenings as the tempature begins to goes down. It is large and rather secluded. We are in an area that overlooks the sandia mountians and there is always a breeze moving through. Add in some fresh fruit and it makes for the perfect evening.
Two roads diverged in a yellow wood
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood

My favorite summer activity is camping.....though I tend to try to go from early spring through late fall.

Nothing like getting up in the morning and brewing up a pot of coffee and fixing some eggs and sausage for breakfast and then taking it outside the camper to enjoy it under hundreds of trees.

The after breakfast leash up the dogs and take them for a nice walk down one of the trails allowing them to wander off the trail a bit to do their morning business.

The afternoon when it starts to get hot turn on the radio, keeping the volume down low and taking a nap under the awning or shade tree.

At night when the sun is going down start a fire in the pit and sit up late watching the flames dance around the log.

I think my favourite activity is to sit outside around a fire pit with good friends, some cold drinks and a lot of laughs. There's something so relaxing in that...no pressures, no responsibilities....just rest and fun and friends.

Well I'm like jim. There is nothing I love more than my camping. LOVE it to the depth of my heart and soul.
As soon as we get to the entrance of the park, I take a deep breath and thank God for this beautiful country side I am about to enter. It touches me deeply, the peace, the silence, the nature, the wildlife, the lakes, it is just all to beautiful and it is where I like to be in the summer. We were always tenters until 2004, when we bought our tent trailer. i just love my trailer. Love it!!! When I was not so sick I could even take off on my own, set it up, and sit there in peace and be so happy. Now being so ill and not being able to drive I wait until hubby has some days off and then we head out.
We are actually heading out next Tues evening and staying until the Sunday. As long as I have my ice packs i will get thru the days of pain.
What a great question. One that was right up my alley. i could go on and on about camping, i love it that much!!!!
