Hey everyone, im new to this forum! have been suffering many health problems since i was born, my mum was told i was going to be a still born but turns out i was the 2% chance that i would be born alive! but that cause my immune system not to work properly. i get sick very easily. but 3 years ago now i got really sick and ended up in hospital, thye thought it was appendicitis but it was a twisted ovary, they removed it. but the same pain was still there when i woke up from the operation, so they figured that was just fluke that i got there just as it twisted, the can't yet find the source of the pain but it completely drains everything out of me some days, i am in year 10 at school and manage to go most of the time even when the pains bad, taking some days off when its really bad and causes me to faint and collapse or with doctors appointments. i have been hospitalised 3 times when this pain has become so bad and my oesophagus gets inflamed when the pain in my abdomen increases. I was just wondering if anyone else has anything like this or knows anything about this kind of this. the doctors are doing investigations but wondering if anyone is going through this too.

my main symptoms are:
lower right abdominal pain 24/7 that increases with movement and when i get cold.
when pain is worse that normal feeling sick
some times i find small bruises over my body that aren't injury induced.
my whole body feeling exhausted and sore.
increasingly bad memory.

thanks everyone :)

Hey buttercup , Welcome to the Forum , I'm glad you stopped in .I don't have the issues you have but I want to encourage you to tell your parents everything your feeling , I'm sure they will know what to do , and tell your doctor when you see him . You are always welcome to write here I'm sure someone will have similar symptoms and offer you some advice . But I think its most important to talk to your folks , let them know what your feeling . Please let us know how it goes , best of luck to you . Mikel

Hi, Buttercup,
I also want to welcome you to the chronic pain forum of Healing Well. I'm sorry you're going through so much especially at such a young age. One thing - we're not doctors here, just a support community, and we don't give medical advice. You may want to read through the forum rules, and there's also a lot of great information in the CP101 thread at the top of the page.

I have to agree with Mikel. I think talking to your parents and your doctors is what you need to do with your symptoms as finding out what is causing them is what's most important. Do you know if you have a large teaching hospital near you? There's a link to finding them in the CP101 thread. Sometimes you can get a team of doctors who will help do a thorough assessment, but your doctors may be doing just fine. It's just an idea.

I hope you talk with your parents and doctors soon. Sometimes you have to be your own advocate when it comes to your health. We all have had to learn that the hard way!

Again, welcome!

Hello buttercup and welcome to our family! I am so sorry to hear that you are suffering so much!! It is even worse because you are so young! We love to meet new people but really hate that we get to meet them because they hurt! You will find a lot of wonderful caring people here! Please understand that we can not give medical advice, but we can share some ideas or experiences with you.

I have a very large cyst on one of my ovaries that is beginning to twist my ovary. It is very painful at times, but removing it would have stopped that pain. Has your doctor mentioned endometriosis or celiac disease? Both of these are hard to diagnose....both can be very painful and cause you to be very tired. Celiac disease will cause nausea but bad pain by itself can cause it too! These are just some suggestions and I sure hope they find out what is going on real soon! There may be others here that have some more and better ideas for you!

Keep us updated and take care of you!!

   Dear Butter Cup.

Good evening. My name is Dani. It is very nice to meet you. I am glad you came to find the Chronic Pain forum in the Healing Well Community. I hope you find this a good place for information and support.

I am sorry you have been through so much, yet still have yet to find the true source of you pain. Many people here have had to see many doctors and specialists to no avail. I wish diagnostics were more advanced....  But the sad truth is that modern medicine has yet to be able to explain many diseases and illnesses.

The only advise I can give you is to make sure that everyone you see, documents and tests every lead, to the best of their ability. Just because the source cannot be found right now... doesnt mean that someone wont be able to "put the peices" together to solve the problem later. Does that make sense? In other words document everything. Keep copies of all tests. Another thing you may want to consider is to have full diagnostics at a teaching hospital.

It was very nice to meet you. Stay strong

hey everyone,
thanks so much for the replies :) you are all so nice and encouraging! I have told my parents and going to doctor on tuesday as a regular appointment, hoping he might have a few results back from some tests and we may be closer to finding out what this all is! I have been tested for celiac disease and the tests came back and i dont have it and have been on diets to make sure its not that. Tested for lots but theres still alot to test for so im really confident that over the next year we will atleast have an answer, even if its not a cure i will atleast know whats going on and be able to understand it, would be alot easier to deal with because it does get scary not knowing whats happening inside me! Thankyou all so much and i hope things all work out okay from you, would love to hear from you :)
