Monday Koffee Klatch
     If you are new to this forum family then you may be wondering what kind of goofy question is that on a health care forum. idea   We all suffer with medical conditions and with most of us there is pain involved...sometimes a lot of pain. Or maybe you are the loved one of one of these persons. This forum is all about how we help and support each other, how we gain back more quality to our lives, and how we can learn and share what we gain along the way and hopefully make not only our lives better but the lives of others who come to join us.

      But we need to also remember that there is the other side of life...the side that isn't concentrated on illness and pain. That's why we started the daily Koffee Klatch. This is a time to laugh, reminisce, chit-chat about the silly things in our lives...all fun things and no pain. In fact the 'P' word is not allowed...  turn    So each day we share our thoughts or experiences on a different topic. Often it includes food, sometimes we talk about our past, and other times we just get goofy! Laughter is our goal. So, please join us whether this is your very first day on Healing Well or you're a seasoned veteran.
Daily Question:
     What is your medical resource? Do you have a particular web site or reference books you use to look up and learn about medical diagnosis / perscriptions?
What is your medical resource? Please, share with us.

I'm another Mayo person. They have great info on almost everything. I also like to use the actual drug company sites for meds because you can almost always find a coupon for a discount if you have a new med that has a high copay. We even get my husband's kapidex (new name dow, but I can't remember it) for free for a year. Man what a discount!

I also love to post here for info. Nobody pretends to be a Dr, but the personal experience is a wonderful resource and gives more of an insight than the generic sites.

I use the internet and search a lot of different sites. I also go to my husband and ask him questions on meds and whatnot since he is a chemist and knows a whole heck of a lot about that stuff.

I also rely on the people here to help teach me about the world of chronic pain and how to deal with it.

Hysterectomy at 25 : Fell down stairs 3 days after4 laproscopic surgeries since 24

Cervical Stenosis between C 2 and C6 and two buldging disks located C2/3 and C4/5

Meds - Embeda 20mg 2x per day: Dilaudid 2-4 mg every 4-6hrs::Amrix 15mg 1x day: Pristiq 50mg 1x day

In the United States today, there is a pervasive tendency to treat children as adults, and adults as children. The options of children are thus steadily expanded, while those of adults are progressively constricted. The result is unruly children and childish adults. ~Thomas Szasz
