I am a fifty-nine year-old female who had been in excellent health.  The pain started in the back and thighs when I had to bend over and put eyedrops in my husband's eyes eight times a day.  I now have had cronic pain for over two years in the back, buttocks and thighs.  The pain is prickley.  I can feel the outline of the bones. Sometimes the outline of the bones is sharp like a serrated edge of a knife.  I feel like the serrated edge is cutting through my skin.  I also feel sensations of muscles pulling in different directions.  Over the past two years I feel more stiffness in my back, legs and buttocks.  I also have burning sensations that spread like a warm glow throughout the entire body.  The glow feels like a fever.  As the pain gets worse, I have no life.  I just move from bed to chair with limited walking throughout the house.  If my recliner chair goes up at a different angle than usual, my body becomes stretched out and becomes extremely painful.  Does anyone have any ideas about what may be going on?   Also, does anyone know how to relieve my tight, stiff muscles?

Have you seen a doc for this? I am not a doc and am not giving advice but to me it sounds like maybe a low back issue to me. As for the tight pads and hot baths do wonders for me. I have also been known to cover myself in BioFreeze which is a stronger icy/hot type topical cream...

In the United States today, there is a pervasive tendency to treat children as adults, and adults as children. The options of children are thus steadily expanded, while those of adults are progressively constricted. The result is unruly children and childish adults. ~Thomas Szasz

Bio-freeze is a great product. I use it for muscle soreness and stiffness all the time. Also Ibuprofen often helps too with this, but as far as your other issues I too suggest going to see a doctor about it.

There could be any number of reasons for it from a pinched nerve to a slipped disc to who knows what else.
