WELL, TO RECAP, I WAS IN THE HOSPTIAL AFTER MY LAST CHEMO, WITH ATRIL FIB, (RAPID HEART RATE).  MY THEN, CARDIOLIGIST, SAID THAT I SHOULDN'T CONTINUE WITH MY CHEMO, THAT I WAS GOING TO HAVE A HEART ATTACK AND THAT THE CHEMO AND RADIATION WOULD BURN MY HEART.  SO I THREW HIM OUT OF MY ROOM, GOT DISHCHARGED AND WENT TO A NEW CARDIOLOGIST AND JUST FOR GOOD MEASURE, GOT A SECOND ONCOLOGY OPINION AS WELL.  BOTH SECOND OPINIONS SAID THAT THE FIRST CARDIOLOGIST WAS FULL OF IT AND THAT I NEEDED TO CONTINUE WITH THE CHEMO AND RADIATION.  SO YESTERDAY I CONTINUED WITH MY FIFTH ROUND OF CHEMOTHRAPY.

IT WAS DIFFICULT, AS I WENT IN WITH A SPLITTING HEADACHE AND NAUSEA, BOTH AS A RESULT OF THE STEROIDS THEY GIVE ME FOR PROTECTION AGAIN A REACTION FROM THE TAXOL.  BUT AFTER GIVING ME THE ANTI-NAUSEA MEDS AND HYDRATION, I FELT BETTER.  I ALSO TOOK MY PERCOCET AND THAT ALLEVIATED THE PAIN SOMEWHAT.

TODAY I HAVE BEEN SLEEPING AND WHEN I AM AWAKE I STILL HAVE A SLIGHT HEADACHE.  MY HEART RATE IS FAST WHENEVER I GET UP SO I TRY TO STAY DOWN AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE AT LEAST FOR THE NEXT FEW DAYS.  I AM ALSO EATING BANANAS AND DRINKING OJ AS MY POTASSIUM WAS DOWN LAST TIME I WENT TO ICU AND THEY THOUGHT IT MAY HAVE BROUGHT about THE ATRIAL FIB AS WELL.  SO I AM TRYING TO BE A PREVENTATIVE PATIENT AS WELL.

SO THERE YOU HAVE IT IN A NUTSHELL.  MY DAUGHTER, JILL, IS TRAVELING FROM SOUTH FLORIDA TO STAY WITH ME FOR about FOUR OR FIVE DAYS TO HELP ME OUT.  MY HUSBAND IS GETTING FRIED TOO.  HE NEEDS SOME RELIEF.  I THINK HE IS SUFFERING FROM DEPRESSION NOW AS WELL.  PLEASE PRAY FOR HIM AS WELL.

THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR PRAYERS AND WELL WISHES.  IT MEANS THE WORLD TO ME.  AND PLEASE KEEP IN TOUCH.  I LOVE TO HEAR FROM ALL OF YOU OUT THERE AND KNOW HOW YOU ALL ARE DOING TOO.  GOD BLESS ALL OF YOU MY GOOD FRIENDS.

LOVE YOU ALL.

Linda thank you so much for updating us on your journey. I do remember the cardiologist you threw out of the room, lol, good for you. What a trooper you are Linda. I am very glad that you got your second opinions and now everything has settled down as far as what you should or should not be doing. I am wondering if perhaps a complaint should be registered against that cardiologist, if he has done it to you he has others what a cad.

Are you taking Zofran by chance for the nausea? I do not know how I could manage if I did not have Zofran for the nausea. I know Zofran is given to cancer patients that is why I asked. I have had it (nausea) for years and no one really knows why, some say its because of the meds in my pump but the pump dr says no. Like I told my gi dr who rx's it for me, I really don't care what is what as long as I have the Zofran to handle it. I am glad to hear you are able to sleep after having to take the steroids, they wind me up so bad.

I am so glad your daughter is coming for a few days. Yes, I am sure hubby could use a break too. It will do both of you a world of good to see her. Enjoy your visit with your daughter and then later come back and tell us all about it, lol.

Take care and as always you and your family are in our hearts and prayers. Hugs to all.

Hi Linda, sending you lots of healing energy. Nausea is awful whatever the reason and quite debilitating just on its own. Make sure you keep drinking lots of water to help flush it all through your system. I get bad headaches from the very low dose chemo I take for RA, so I can imagine how bad they'd be with a full dose.
We're all thinking of you and I will put your hubby up there in my thoughts too. So glad yourdaughter can come and over some moral support too. It can't be easy on any of you.
My very best wishes, golitho

Love you all. Thanks for all your replies. My daughter is helping me a lot. She has been cooking a lot of healthy things for me, very strong soups and meats. I am getting stronger faster this time.

My headache is gone and the legs pains and body aches are getting less severe. The nausea only lasted this morning so now it is night time and it is all gone I think for the time being this round. Thank the good Lord. I am blessed by good family and all of you friends. God bless all of you.

It is good to hear things are going a little better. As has been mentioned before, your strength shows through all that you are dealing with and that coupled with your positive attitude goes along way to helping to recover. You continue to be in my prayers. Be blessed!
