Family,

I know there's a lot of love and support here for members and their loved ones. Would you mind keeping my father in law in your prayers?

Peter has been dealing with heart problems for a couple of years now and had surgery about 6 months ago. He was hospitalized 2 days ago as the doctors discovered an infection in his heart. Yesterday, he apparently suffered a stroke.

He is in Ontario (I'm in Alberta) and my one sister in law who lives there is on her way to the hospital to get more info. I don't think he's going to be strong enough to survive this but I hope that he can get thru it. He's a wonderful man and I love him very much.

His wife Linda is beside herself with worry - I'm praying for her as well. Thank you for your good thoughts, my family appreciates it.

hugs,
Pam

Pam,

I will be praying for you, your father in law, and your entire family. It sounds like you are worried as well? I am hoping you get some more information soon. If there is anything I can do, please let me know. We are all here for you.

Thank you everyone. His stroke appears to be not too bad...he's lost some sensation on the right side and has no control of his tongue, so he can't talk or swallow well. The infection that was found in his heart has spread through his entire body, so he's on massive IV antibiotics. He has a pacemaker right now, so they are moving him to Newmarket, ON to a hospital that has a heart care center. He may need surgery to remove the pacemaker and replace a heart valve...so, it's a waiting game now.

Thank you so much for your prayers and good thoughts. I really appreciate it.

hugs,
Pam

Dear Pam
Thanks for taking the time to update us. Well some kinda good and some not so good news!! This infection sounds pretty bad. Do you know the name of the bacteria that is attacking his body. Will he be in ICU when he gets to Newmarket? Maybe he need to come to the Heart Institute here in Ottawa??

MY prayers continue for you and your families. How is your husband handling all this? Is he planning a trip to Ont.?

Take care hon. I know it's difficult being so far away and not being able to do anything. Make sure to take care of YOU as well so that your pain levels don't rise!!

Love
