help keep our mind off the pain...

I like the Black Kitties and collect Black kitties items and I have a real Black kitty his name is Chancellor

I love to dress up for Halloween and hand out candy to the little ones. Halloween is one of my favorite holidays and I enjoy getting out my Halloween decorations and setting them out. I just bought myself another Haunted House from Bath & Body and it is really neat. I like to turn the lights off inside at night and only have my houses and pumpkins lit up. I use to love carve pumpkins but my hands can't handle that anymore. I will be bringing my goodies out soon to set up.

I deleted the Koffee Klatch for Monday, no worries.
I will use it for tomorrows daily.
If you can, email me in the AM, so I don't mess up.
I am always grateful for a break. :-)
Lots of huggs!

I used to carve out a couple of Pumpkins and set them just outside the front door. To show off the design, we would put in a candle and put the top back on.

After a few hours, you can smell kind of a burnt cooked pumpkin smell, if the candle is tall enough to burn the top. I don't know why, but I just love that smell! smilewinkgrin

I do a Haunted Porch every year. I have a 6ft tall talking skeleton dressed as a butler welcoming the tricksters, a screaming doormat, talking witch head and bald man head, flying ghost with flashing eyes, coffin, child size skeleton, a graveyard, spider webs with spiders, cauldron, and a fog machine. Anyone who is brave enough to come to my house gets candybars. I'm the big hit of the holiday.
I dress different every year: Witch, old lady with a baby hanging on my back (my head's the baby's), monster, and death. I wear a voice changer so I'm extra spooky.
My nieces and nephew love to join in every year to scare people. Last year my brother sat in tent with a monster mask and grabbed nearby people. Lol!
We have a great time!

You know, I have to say it is roasting. Its so fun to get dirty and "slimy" cleaning out the pumpkins. Then we separate the stringy goo from the seeds. Soak, salt and roast / bake. There never seems to be enough.
This year my neighbor Sherry wants very much to have the entire neighbor hood over for a pumpkin painting / carving fiesta. I will have a lot of seeds to find and clean, but it will be nice to have so much seeds from the kids hard work!

I just love the nice fall evening & being outside. Everything is so quiet, yet so hectic at the same time (the road I live on is, or at least used to be, a big "hot-spot" for trick-or-treating because it goes in a big circle. we used to get 200+ trick-or-treaters each year, but the last few years, it has been more like 10-20).

My favorite part of Halloween has to be all the kids that stop by the house! The past couple of years there have been more of the little ones than the older kids and they are just SO darn cute! It really does help me 'forget' my pain for a few hours. Some of the costumes are just hysterical. I had a little boy come by last year that was dressed as a bowling ball - two of the holes where your fingers would go in a real bowling ball, were placed where his eyes were 'supposed' to be! The only problem was his costume kept turning, the eye-holes would end up on the side of his head, and he kept walking into people/mailboxes/parked cars as he was 'waddling' up the street and then coming up the walkway to my front door! Also, his costume made him as wide as he was tall so he was having some issues with his balance. As he was leaving my house, he tipped over and actually rolled down my driveway! By this time I was laughing so hard, I literally almost peed my pants!!
