Sorry I haven't been around in so long.  I took a break from the board and thought I would come back now and do an update.  I saw the pain management doctor at RehabNY.  She put me on the Fentanyl patches 25mcg. and I was on oxycodone just twice a day and it was increased to three times a day.  That wasn't doing the job, so she increased the patches to 50mcg. and the oxycodone ended up being increased to four times a day sometime during that time.  Well, I was stable on those two, so the doctor called my primary doctor and sent her the orders and now I'm getting my pain meds from my primary care doctor.  I am finally where I need to be.  Of course, as you all know, the pain does bust thru at different times, but for the most part the pain is pretty manageable.

I've gotta catch up on everyone.  I was just reading about Tina going to go in for the c-sexction.  I didn't know that she was almost at the end of her pregnancy with the girls.  i also didn't know  that the little punkins were girls.  I am now waiting on pins and needles to hear about Tina and the twinkies.  That's so cute.  Please let us know as soon as you hear something Stac.

Well, I'm hurtin'.  I guess it's time to get off here and take some pain medication.  I hope you all are having a lpn.  God bless you all.

love ya

Hey Loretta , I love that name !!!! Glad to here from you ! Listen have you tried juicing vegatables and fruits and drinking them every day ? I did and it reduced my pain a lot ! You need to buy a juicer , but its worth it , its the way your body naturally consumes , any green veggies are great you can mix them with any fruits so it tastes really good and its really healthy and helps you feel great !! I was on 6 - 80mg oxyicontin a day plus 8 percocets a day and now I take 2 - 40 mg oxyicontin a day or as needed , I go days without needing it , its very freeing .Just something for you to try if you'd like to , but it really worked wonders for me . Good luck and I'm glad the meds are working for you . Mikel

Welcome back Loretta, you know sometimes taking a break from the forum is needed as many of us do that from time to time. So nice to hear that you have finally got some decent pain control going on, wow that can make such a difference. My dr told me once that the only way I would ever be totally pain free again is if he made me a zombie on pain meds and of course we both laughed and said that would never happen. I hope your current medication regime keeps working for a very long time.

Take care.

Hi Loretta, that is a very cool name. sounds like you might be a from the south. anyway that sounds like a good pain control combo. i was wondering if you have ever tried adding in something like Lyrica or Neurontin, and now Cymbalta has gotten FDA approval for chronic pain of any type, [if it has not got that approval yet it's right on the verge], into your cocktail. maybe a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory or different muscle-relaxants. talk to ya later.
