I'm back from my first full PT appointment. She warned me that I'll be sore afterwards and she was right! smhair
I was put on some contraption that she buckled my legs into so they couldn't move and had me lean back against 25lbs of pressure and lean forward as far as I could. My feet fell asleep! nono
I was then placed in another machine that pushed against my back and I had to "cat arch" against it to move it. It was quite a strain. skull
Next she had me to sit on a bench and do arm lifts and waist twists. She had me lay down on the bench on my stomach and bend my knees. I couldn't do many due to a spasm. When she told me to sit up my back screamed in severe pain! cry
She had me stretch out some muscles to calm it down. smhair
She had me do some steps when I felt like it. By the time I was done I was in a good spasm and couldn't do the toe touching as far as before. smhair smhair smhair
I've never hurt so much!
My joints popped and cracked so loudly she could hear them.
I told her just called me "snap, crackle, pop"! shakehead

Couchtater/ u have it completely backwards on describing the Nissen vs. The Hill repair. Wow! I have been through both~~~~if  a Nissen unwraps/ The Hill repair wraps it again tighter and attaches the esoph to the Aerotal Wall/ strongest muscle. That then prevents you from vomioting except for spit and what they also call " esoph gel".

  Goodness Joy!

Gosh, I am so sorry PT is so hard right now. I sure hope you can get to a point where the exercises get easier. It sounds like you are worn out from head to toe! The contraptions you describe sound very painful. I must admit I would cry if someone were to put that much pressure on my back!

I sure hope by now you are somewhat recovered. Try to rest as much as your body will let you! How many times a week do you need to go to PT?

And sorry I could not travel both

I see her every Monday and Thursday to allow time to recover.
My homework is arm raises, waist twists, below the belly button pull ins, and hip bents while seated. They seem to calm the spasms some.

Sharlin, that is what my surgeon told me. I don't know if I can throw up or not. If I feel sick I take an anti-nausea pill right then to stop it.
