    Dear Friends,

I would like to change our family chat night. I need input and suggestions from all of you before doing so.

I would like to come up with a list of "topics" to talk about and discuss during chat night. So that we can all discuss the same "topic" from each of our point of views.

I would like to keep our chat nights discussing how "we" (CP Family) are doing and "Our Topics" (CP Topics).  But, I need your help to compile a large list of topics that I can write down for discussion. I would like to keep this "post" bumped up to the top for the next week so we can respond with topic suggestions as we come up with them. So, if you see this post working too far down the list please "bump" it back up to the top.

Thanks so much for all of your help :-)

Hey Dani Girl , each person introduce themselves , what their issues are , what illness  , level of pain , meds , level of support by family and friends , what they would like from HW , maybe thats something we could start with anyway . Kay chat night is on thursdays 8pm eastern time , hope to talk to you then !  Mikel  P.S. Tuesday or Wednesday seems ok to change chat nite to , Monday and Friday aren't really good , for me at least .

not Friday's or Mondays, Please...
I think maybe "any recent doctor visits" could be a topic, and maybe a night of just "what helps you"

Hi Dani,

Here are some that I came up with. I hope this is the kind of thing you are looking for. I don't what you have planned, nor do I know if something has changed in chat recently, but whenever I've participated, it always seems that each chat kind of takes on it's own course. People will jump in & ask specific questions/change the topic, but I've never really seen any need for prompting. Anyways, I suppose it's not bad to have a list of potential topics. Here are mine:

Your pain story
Pets, family, and friends that help us through CP
Hobbies/interests
Pain & sleep
Pain & relationships
Pain & work
medications & medication side effects
Coping mechanisms
Alternative therapies for pain management
The process & goals of pain management
Pain management clinics
De-stress/Relaxation Techniques
Pain & depression
How the changing seasons/weather patterns effect our pain
Tips for healthy living
Pain psychologists/seeking psychological help as a means of pain management
Pain relieving procedures & devices (ie steriod injections, nerve blocks, SCS, pain pumps)
Techniques for documenting our pain (ie pain journals, pain dairy)
How to get the best out of your doctor-patient relationship
When to call the doctor/when to go the the ER

Wow Skeye covered it all I do believe, lol. It is easier to have a main topic rather than 20 different conversations going in different directions much easier to keep up with. Sort of reminds me of Koffee Klatch with the one topic to talk on or should I say write about.
