I would like to thank all of you who were able to make it to chat night. We had a lot of fun. We met some new people tonight as well and I hope they can stop by the forum and say," Hello! ".
Our topics for the early part of the evening centered around Pain and Hobbies. We learned a lot about the many aspects of photography & Crochet. I noticed that each of us had hobbies we used to enjoy doing before pain but that we all found hobbies that we could do in spite of pain. Some of us spending years and years perfecting our crafts and trades.
The later topic was pain and communication. We all learned how each of us communicate our pain levels to our families. What I found most interesting how different each of us approach our loved ones when it comes to pain. Some of us understate our pain. Some of us communicate freely about our levels. But we all want and need is for our families to "understand" that we are struggling at times.
When we began speaking about communication with our doctors about our pain, again I noticed we all had vastly different approaches. Some felt their doctors didn't even hear their words, while others didn't need to say anything as their needs were plainly understood. I couldn't help but wonder why there wasn't an "angies list" of doctors who care and take a personal approach to medicine.
So, that was just some of the highlights of the evening. I had a great time tonight and look forwards to next week!
!!Oh!! Before I forget, if you noticed this weeks "chat night reminder" had a pole attached to it. There will be a poll attached to the "reminder" each week. The "topics" will be rotated in and out each week. So, if you can, please stop by and vote on the topic. Even if you do not think you can make it to chat night, we still value your input!
