So my orthopaedic surgeon ordered physical therapy after my surgery. I'll be starting soon, the order is only for 4 days a week for 4 weeks. I've had PT several times before. 2 summers ago I lost all feeling and movement in my left leg and arm. I was in the rehabilitation unit at the hospital for 3 weeks, after being in the hospital for 2 weeks before. I was in PT and OT. It was painful.

Anyone have PT that was ordered every day or several times a week?

THanks for the help. I have never had PT as an outpatient, so I'm curious.

I go twice a week. My PT believes in going slow and if I feel any pain I'm to stop doing the exercise. She has me try it again at the next meeting, but stop if it hurts.

How often and for how long a person goes for PT depends on the reason for it. Some conditions require every day therapy and others require rest periods or are only needs once or twice a week.

My step Mom had to go in for PT every day for a couple of months after having a stroke. She had therapy while in the hospital and once discharged she still had to go in every day for therapy for quite some time.
